So how "young" do you think I am????

I should say I watched most of the video AFTER I posted this. I have been running CMM's since 1989.... but WOW what the CMM's can do now is amazing! I would have to go back to training to learn how to run the new CMM's.....

If you were the fella in the video, I say your 30's.

Uuuuhhhh ......

Nope I was not in the video

This is a 3 Minute 50 Second video I made on the CMM I run checking a part a couple of years ago.

https://www.flickr.com …0272712598/in/dateposted/ (external link)

This was not the full program. only a little bit of it. The entire program might have run 15-20 minutes.

Some programs can run for 2 - 4 hours if there is a lot more to check on the part.

When the program was done it would print out a sheet or multiple sheets depending how many items were checked showing what was and what was not in tolerance.

The actual CMM was new in 1988, so the CMM machine is older, BUT it was retrofitted in 2012 with a new probe head and new software. For it's age it is still very accurate.

In 1988 this machine cost $250,000 roughly.

I would hear beeping in my head for the rest of my life if I did that all day everyday. At least make it moan or something. Was wondering when the little arm was going to get stuck in a hole.

Or CRASH into the side of the part with forgetting to make a "goto" move to get to the next needed location?? I did THAT more then one time!

Crashing breaks the ball and or does damage to the probe head. Not a good thing to do!

I watched it but didn't comment. My knowledge of that field is so poor–I mean, like, zero–that I couldn't think of a meaningful remark.

PRONOUN ADVISORY: OhLook is a she. | A FEW CORRECT SPELLINGS: lens, aperture, amateur, hobbyist, per se, raccoon, whoa | Comments welcome

Maybe you can sing something meaningful to Inspeqtor. I'd give it a heartfelt listen.
