That's the first thing that comes to mind when "banjo" comes up.

Now squeal like a pig.

That movie ruined the banjo for a generation.

Daytime temps 105-110? Nighttime "lows" in the 90's? No thanks.

If that were my summer (and in DC, it would be) I'd move! Come to think of it, I do. And it still gets warmer than I might like at times.

I plan on checking out Idaho, maybe a couple of other places... southern Utah? Colorado?... for when I retire in two years.

I don't know where I want to retire. The plan was always to move out west, Cali, but the more I look into the costs out there the less appealing it's looking

Yeah, cost, and politics.

And I'm not going to retire in a state that has more people on welfare than in the work force. There's only one direction for your state taxes to go.

I have no idea either. It will likely depend on where my kids end up. If they stick around here, we will likely move to a smaller community nearby, but if they take off, who knows. We have a ton of friends around Calgary, but lots in the interior of BC too, where there is more backcountry playing to be done.

Mine, too. Though, I'm still not sure what to make of the fact that the name of the inbred hillbilly banjo player in the movie was Lonnie.

My name is Lonnie, but I answer to Thomas too.
