wonder how long this enthusiasm will last :D

 It will last right up until the time it ceases to be fun and becomes a job. Enjoy it while it lasts!

Those are some great shots.

I wish I was up there taking them. :)

There has to be a certain thrill factor to that!

My poor truck is sick :(

I've known for awhile that the alternator wants to retire, but as long as it's still charging I can put up with the noise until I decide that it's worth the $145 price tag. Plus belts.

I've also been hearing a noise from behind me. Just narrowed it down to the hanger bearing. Better than a differential though! I'll have to find out if it's replaceable or if I have to buy a new driveshaft. But for now, I can live with that noise as well.

Glad I spent the $$ on a good stereo and speakers!

I did the stereo back in September, before these problems occurred.

The speakers were junk and I was going on a week long road trip. Went with a nice JVC deck and speakers. Had my brother do all the wiring for me so all the soldered connections are professionally done. I can solder quite well, but am nowhere near as good as he is.

I have to have a great sounding stereo.

I bought my car and it's production date was about a month before they started putting iPod/iPhone interface for the MMI system in them standard. I wanted to use my iPod so I called up the dealer and asked how much for the module, since with wiring was already there. $2900... to hell with that. Dension makes a kit, almost exactly like factory. Even connects through the fiber optic system for only $500.

After seeing multiple cars busted into, my neighbors, my son's, people I work with, etc, I have given up on ever having anything other than the basic car radio. It's just not worth the hassle.

I am not exactly sure where the actual stereo is... display up top... controls on the center console... Never really thought about it before.

I put a $4,000 stereo into a four year old Hyundai Excel once. The stereo was worth more than the car was...

I put an 8-track player into an LTD. Don't have the LTD, but still have the 8-track player.

I'm on the road for at least an hour a day and I despise poor quality sound. Road tripping with great tunes playing is heaven for me.

Long gone are the days of cranking Judas Priest in my new '89 Z24 convertible. Seems talk radio is the only thing that keeps me focused these days.

Audio books for me. After years of commuting, music is just too repetitive. Talk radio too frustrating, news too scary, so audio books. It's perfect actually. I love to read and can consume a good book in a weekend, but I have so little time to spend reading. But I am stuck in the car for an hour a day and a good story is relaxing, engaging, and makes the time pass and lowers the stress level. By the time I get home I am relaxed and totally unwound from work.
