Oh yeah, the best show....Neil Diamond at the Greek Theater in LA in August of 72. He played for over 2 hours and I don't think anyone sat during the entire time. The best part, they recorded the 10 shows he did there and put it on an album. "Hot August Night"

Never seen Dave Matthews, but for some reason they are quite popular around here. I'm always hearing about them playing one venue or another in the area.

That is just so wrong. Replace Stephanie with some guy and his two underage daughters and that dude is in jail.

How about the worst ever

Not the worst at all, but the most disappointing was just a few years ago seeing Van Morrison. The music was good, with great accompanying musicians, but it I have never seen a person on stage with less personality. He never said a single word outside of singing. Not introduction of band members, no background on songs, nothing. The set lasted 90 minutes tops, and he left the stage without a single encore. I have since heard of a few others who were disappointed in his show.

Bought tickets earlier this week to see Heart in June. Jason Bonham (John Bonham's son) will be playing drums with them. I saw them 35 years ago, and then again a couple years ago. The still have it going on, Ann is by far one of my favourite female vocalists, and I love how her voice has matured. And Nancy is no slouch on guitar, and even though past 60, still looks great.

If I can talk a few friends into it, I hope to buy a table worth of seats at a charity dinner that Colin James will be playing at later this month.

I have been to hundreds of concerts, and we still go to a few every year. Live music is so much better than anything recorded, especially with good seats.

Last summer went to a Roots and Blues festival in Salmon Arm, BC. Had a fantastic time there, and will be headed back this year for sure.

My biggest surprise was seeing Flo and Eddie along with Peter Noone. It was a combination of music, story telling, comedy, just a really entertaining show. When POeter Noone came out he broke right into song and I though he was going to be pretty lame but he too followed the same recipe with lots of little stories between songs. Very fun.

I haven't been to a ton of large concert venues, but living on the outskirts of NYC there are often times when you can see folks you like in a smaller venue. I used to go to the Zappa Halloween concert in NYC every year when I was young, it was always an amazing show and spectacle. I saw the Clash in a small NYC club, they were awesome as was Jorma Kaukonen in a similar acoustic set. I saw the Dead a few times but the scene was always so huge and crowded I stopped going to their shows.

The Clash would have been a good one to see...

I have been to a Dave Matthews Band concert before... Wife wanted to go... Didn't do much for me at all, all the songs sounded the same - just like Coldplay and Chilli Peppers ... their music is always the same..

Support act was Willie Nelson though, that was cool :D

Weather was fantastic down there. 80's-90's. Not a single drop of rain.

Us at a rest stop on day two. This small town starts playing music as soon as we arrive and they have dancers come out. It turns into one big party. The people of the island were just fantastic and cheering us on as we passed by.

A view on day 1. This was at the top of the toughest climb of the event. During a rest stop.

It would not be handled any other way :) She was actually in a VIP van. They had food and drinks for them. They would speed them up to the rest stops and mayra would scoop up food for me. This way when i arrived i did not have to fight with 300+ cyclists getting food. It was great having her. They even drove her up right when i was in the middle of the toughest climb and allowed her to get off. First time she saw me hurting when riding. It was at the 90 mile mark on day 1. 90+ degrees and a 2 mile climb with sustained 18% grades right at the end. It was a killer. Here is a video i did off video she got from that climb. You can see me hurting wearing the green!
