I will probably be painting them black now. I tried melting a hole through the nail to relieve the pressure, but only got a tiny bit out. Now I have a hole in my nail, so I don't want to get nail polish in it. If I paint the rest black it won't stand out so much. (occasionally I like to pretend that I'm actually a girl)

Ouch Mel, that looks like it hurts. I've used the "drill a hole in your fingernail" technique a lot when I was a machinist, but it works best if you do it really quickly before it turns all purple. Once the blood pools, the hole relieves some of the pressure but it stays purple.

It turned purple instantly. I pinched it, pulled it out, looked at it, and watched the wave of purple rush down my nail. Took at most 3 seconds from the time of injury. It got pinched up to halfway to the second knuckle.

Mysterious lands ahead.
