Drifts formed by a south wind. My driveway is about 400 feet down the road from this spot.

The last significant snowfall, with winds from the north.

Taking my 9 year old nephew skiing tomorrow. He's never been and has asked me to teach him. How could I not say yes!

I figured someone would catch that!

It's an old Massey Ferguson, but I don't have a MF toque.

My last trip from Macomb IL back to TX was in this kind of snowstorm. Not fun to drive when you have 900 miles to go.

Nope, that gets very tiring. I drove in a horrendous snowstorm going through Michigan. 200 kms of no visibility. Spent most of the trip with the wheels on the rumble strips, simply because there was no other way to determine if I was going straight.

I just followed a truck. If he went off the road, I was going to follow him into the ditch.

My trip home from NY at the end of December was like that. Visibility was horrid. More than once, I found myself wondering if I was still on the road.

I drove once from Cadiz Ohio to Illinois and though the snow storm itself was not so bad, I must have gotten on I80 just before it closed as there was no one. There were whole sections where the drifting had completely obliterated any tire marks ahead of me and the only way I could tell I was still on the road was by the marker poles at the side of the road.

That is no fun. I had to drive I-81 from Binghamton to Watertown, NY one stormy night. The road was shut down because of the snow and it was pretty freaky being the only one on the road.

I lived in Watertown as a very young child. I was two years old...

I was following a truck. One with an empty flatbed trailer. If I could see his tail lights I was too close. Most of the time I couldn't see anything but snow past the bug deflector.

Hi Tuppers, hope you are all coping with the weather. As usual we get the opposite on the other side of the globe, 33C here at the moment.

Actually did some macro for a change today. I've been mostly shooting the volleyball season that has started with the new school year so a macro outing on a Sunday morning was a treat.
