I guess the words, "I mean..." are the new "umm.." when beginning the answer to a question.

Y'know, I think you're right.

How do you shoot tethered in LR and have it auto print? I can figure out shoot and process, but how in a photobooth could I also have it print?

I guess the words, "I mean..." are the new "umm.." when beginning the answer to a question. I swear, 80% of the people getting interviewed on TV, whether they be Olympic athletes, or SI swimsuit models, or people on the street, start off with, "I mean..." when asked something.

If you need to, take two seconds of silence to compose a freakin' thought.

And that's all I have to say about that.

On POTN it seems to be "So", as in "So, I was..." or "So, what do you..."

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

SHUT UP, and quit picking on me!

(I actually searched just this thread... for, "so,..." (and my user name) and I'm guilty. :o

Everybody is. It's all over the place. I too am guilty and when it was pointed out to me I try really hard to avoid starting a sentence with so.

You have to use it in answer to a question, Lonnie. C'mon, man.

You didn't say there were rules on how and when to do it!

My name is Lonnie, but I answer to Thomas too.

Another one is ending a statement with, "right?"

These inmates are always coming up to me with, "So, I tried calling my wife, right? And..."

or, "My Mom put money on my books, right?... But I..."

As soon as they say "Right?" I say, "I don't know." That confuses them for a few moments, then they invariably say it again. "No, I mean she DID put money on my books, right? But I.."

Then I repeat, "I don't know."

Sometimes it takes them three or four times before they don't use "right?"

 Take that "right" out and insert "eh" and you've got instant Canadian! Within certain parameters at least. Can't be throwing the eh's around without just cause.

"I know, right?" has become a message-board cliché. I don't know when or where it started, but the phrase is everywhere now. It doesn't even mean anything!
