We had a rash of those on our street a couple of years ago, but the best one was the woman that hit the street sign right across from us. I was able to get a look at her and the vehicle before she drove off, so I called 911 to report the accident. I then went outside and, lo and behold, there was her license plate. I called the police back, got the same operator who, when I told her about the plate said "Oh goody." She sent a unit and I gave them the plate. I never found out what the outcome was, but I expect someone had some explaining to do. John
