Its been sunny here for a week now. Did nothing but sleep yesterday and watch the great world cup game of USA vs Portugal. Too bad USA relaxed a little too early and allowed that equalizer

If they hadn't have slow-played the substitution and got that extra time added on, they would have won.

Must be nice.

We need it so bad. It's amazing how things green up with a bit if rain.

Some time ago I built an electronic trigger for photographing lightning. Since then we've had none in the area. Chance of thunderstorms the next couple days, so I am hopeful. :)

We have light rain here right now. Been off and on for the last three hours. Won't amount to much at this rate, but it certainly keeps things from drying out. Keeps me out of the garden though, and it needs weeding.

Yea, but the last few seconds of gloating was hard to watch. I still don't like that soccer has no set end time. The clock should be the clock. Everyone should clearly know where we are in the game. None of this referee discretion stuff.

Agreed. The time should just stop moving when a player is being attended to. Then resumed afterwards.

oh blah, it has been like that since the beginning of the game back in the 1800s... Just keep the game flowing. Actually, there is a rule about how the referee adds on time for the end of the match - injuries, substitutions etc. So when the ref signals 3-5 minutes at the end of the match to make up for people wasting time, unless there is another substitution or a long injury issue in injury time, the ref will blow at the end of that added time...

keeps the game flowing. But what they need is video review like in rugby, a (limited) couple of video challenges per half, should keep the game flowing, but not allow refs to **** things up.
