It's going to be a long day. A group of us are going on a photo outing tomorrow, a couple ghost towns and abandoned areas. I am so excited.

so if you're going out tomorrow, why is today a long day?

it is for me though, why do clients always insist on reports being done the friday before a bank holiday weekend?

Two days ago we were under a heat advisory, right now it's only 18C and 77% humidity. Rather cool and damp. Last night it went down to 12C.

Because I can't focus on anything, too excited about new abandoned places.

Yesterday and the day before our high temp was right around 100F/38C if you believe the weather person tomorrow is only suppose to be 74F/23C.

Abandoned, desolate urban areas are my favorite subject. Sadly we don't have a lot of that around here so I have to settle for ghost towns, abandoned farm houses, school houses, and one concrete plant.

I would love to have old abandoned buildings to shoot. Nothing like that here :(
An old asylum, hospital, or Victorian mansion would be cool. Not so much into urban areas, like inner cities.

We have quite a bit but it's mostly old farm houses and barns. Which can be cool but I love the industrial and medical themes.

We have tons of abandoned farm houses around here. I'd love to photograph them, but I don't like the idea of being caught trespassing.

A few years ago I went exploring at an abandoned CN repair yard over in Port Huron with some photographers from the area. Later on I thought about the implications of being caught breaking the law in a foreign country - not nice thoughts. When I was up north last fall Chris and I went through a few places, but they were wide open and not personally owned (church, train station, etc).

I thought about this thread yesterday as I was driving down the road, headed towards the lake, and spied a tripod left standing at the edge of a field all by it's lonesome.

I'm sure there's a deep meaning there, but it's eluding me for now.

I'm thinking they're three-legged aliens, and they've landed in your area. Who sees two tripods in the middle of nowhere? Aliens is the only possibility.
