It works a whole lot better if y'all keep the tires pointed away from the sky.

ECM - They swore it was running fine a couple days ago. Nope, no one has touched anything...

Clutch - Daughter... Had only 8k miles on it.

Brakes - They didn't notice any problems, had been driving that way for years.

Timing belt with 150k on it, still ran fine.

Really wish I had photographed more of the carnage and stupidity I've seen over the years.

#1: This vehicle is what the local OHL team uses for driving around the hockey players. The old guy that mainly drives it couldn't care less about safety. The owner happened to drive the vehicle and brought it in complaining about the handling. This was the alignment measurements after a ton of front end work had been done, showed us how bad the back end was as well. The back end cost over $3k to fix.

#2: Headlights stopped working on a Mustang. Found the switch and connection melted. Picture doesn't show that the thing was burning my hand and how bad it smelled.

#3: Noise complaint.

#4: Sold a brake service on an F-250, this is what I found when I pulled the caliper off. Was still under warranty.

#5: Neighbour's house, or what was left of it.

#6: The results of someone not paying attention and rear ending my stationary truck.

#7: My sister climbing out of her Enduro race car (#8) after #37 hit her in turn 3.

Having a cellphone with a decent camera has been great for documenting all the carnage and stupidity at work. I need to upload some more from my phone.

The tractor fire isn't uncommon around here. Lots of reasons for them to start - bad bearing, slipping belt, debris packed behind a pulley, oil leak, fuel leak, electrical, etc. Losing the tractor is bad, but the field fire that it can ignite can be much worse.

I caught my tractor on fire. I mow-rake the leaves in the fall. Keep going around the yard always side discharging until I get a pile in the middle. Then a few passes over the pile mulches them to small pieces. Well, I guess the leaves were drier than I thought one year because after a few passes I noticed that the pile was smoking heavily. I stop the tractor and flames are coming from underneath. Seems the leaves packed in around the muffler and they caught fire.

I do the same thing with the leaves. We have a couple of huge sugar maples, lots of 25 year old oaks, black walnuts, and manitoba maples all over the property. Lots and lots of leaves! The mower's muffler is up front and vents forward, so it's not much of a problem, but the leaves do get packed in on the deck around the pulleys and bearings. Have to keep aware of them.
