Maybe it is the amount of brushes you are using that is bogging down your system. I have heard of batch processing lasting a long time when using photoshop.

Not batch processing. I wanted to know I'f I could batch remove all brushes from the photo's I've processed in order to possibly speed workflow on the remaining photos.

My work flow usually consists of cropping, adjusting levels and all sliders, applying brushes to give effect, copying the preset (including brushes) and exporting the finished product. I then proceed to the next photo and crop, paste the preset, make any slight tweaks and export. I'll start over if I want to change the look of any photo in the sequence. Usually in the photobooth I get groups of 2 or 3, they will usually get a different preset then a single, or larger group. Kids get less dramatic effects void of the heavier clarity slider I use on the adults.

Sorry, no suggestions here. I would have though there should have been a way to do this.....

My only other though would be hacking the xml file - but seems far too much trouble.

Or ask in the forum here.

I did find this on the Adobe site.

One thing that is worth noting: Adobe recommends that if brushwork becomes sluggish, lens correction be turned off and not reactivated until the end of the workflow. Because correcting for lens or perspective distortions requires that every pixel be relocated, this will greatly complicate the calculations of brush/feather/density locations in reference to the Raw original and cause slow-downs.

It's odd, but worth a try. Others also recommended to upgrade to LR5.6. Isn't that the cloud version?

I think I'm running LR 5.5 but have been ignoring the LR 5.6 upgrade message and I'm not on CC.

I've been reading lots about how LR has been getting slower each version. Mine's slow to start but ok-ish once running.

I too have done similar. A bunch of years back I took a swill of beer, and thought who the hell put a cigarette butt in my beer, then it started vibrating I realized it was a wasp, and before I could spit it out, it stung my lip. Took an hour or so for the swelling to go down, then all was good.

A friend of mine did the same and nearly died though. He is allergic, and did not have an epi-pen handy, and was out camping, and got stung taking a drink. It took them almost an hour to get to a hospital, and when he got there he could hardly able to breath at all. He now always carries some sort of man purse with a pen in it.

Well I now know that I won't die from it, but I sure do react to stings. My boss was ready to head to the hospital but I opted for getting antihistamines at the pharmacy. They kept the swelling under control. But now my cheek is rather swollen. I don't know how long it's going to last, but I can't be drugged all the time. The last time I was stung it took 6 weeks for the bruise to go away.

Wow, I've found tons of folks out there in internet land with almost super computers with best of everything and gobs of RAM complaining about LR 4.x. I hate the idea of using multiple programs to do what one program seems to do well.

I switch between LR and PS. LR is for batch stuff like sport and PS is used for my macro shots.

I've been toying with the idea of another viewing program like photo mechanic for a first pass cull, but it seems a waste when I can do it in LR, but a little slower.

Chet...it sounds like you have a compound problem. Old computer, aggressive editing, lens corrections will all slow LR down...v 4.x was kind of a dog to begin with. Have you tried exporting the completed edits to your hard drive and clearing them from the system?

Nope, I am running 5.6 and it's not the CC version.
