I'm open for that, but if no pool. definitely a hot tub.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

That'll work. Being in a hot tub while it's raining/snowing is the best!

You have no idea how good that sounds to me. I'd love to chuck at least 3/4ths of the crap we have, and move into a much smaller low maintenance home with a simple yard, no pool, in a smaller town. It's amazing the junk we think we need to have in order to be happy.

I was able to sell, donate, give away, throw away about 1/2 of all we had accumulated when we moved from IL to TX. We still have too much stuff. We continue to simplify. We could easily move into a much smaller house but really like where we are currently living. And I couldn't live without a pool. That's a must have.

I still have half an attic full of crap left over from my second marriage. I'm just too lazy to get rid of it.

My wife still has clothes from high school. She's now 57.

We also have credit card receipts and bank statements from the '70s.

WOW! I thought I was bad keeping bank statements from closed accounts about 10 years ago.

I keep bank statements and stuff the required time and then have a shredding party. One years tax box goes into the attic and the oldest comes out.

My wifey and I have been heading closer towards the simplistic life. Last night we bought her a 1990 Chevrolet Suburban with big tires and lifted, she is in love with it. She is 5'5" tall and can barely look over the hood... Just like the one she had after high school.

Me? I am going to miss our Yukon Denali but I won't miss the payment.

I came to the same conclusion about car payments recently. My 4Runner needed some major repairs, and I was seriously looking at buying a new SUV, but I didn't want car payments again. So I had the 4Runner fixed and put a new audio/gps/bluetooth/hands free phone system in it. It runs great now, I'm happy and my bank account is happy too.

Around here it cools down too quickly in the evening for a pool, but its perfect for a hot tub.

I need to do something like that. I'm currently working on 1994.

And as far as collecting stuff goes...do not ever get a place with a barn! Filling up a house is child's play compared to filling up a barn. As my neighbor told me while he was looking at his barn full of junk..."the most effective way to deal with this mess is to pay some kids to play with matches by it."

Tim will appreciate this. There is a local amateur radio operator here that is a collector of old radios. You can see pictures of his "collection" on Flickr. just search for WA6MHZ and scroll to the oldest pages of his stream...

Hey John!
I'll be operating W6SRJ at 03:08 PDT tomorrow morning for a contact with the International Space Station.

In case you have insomnia or up for some other reason at that ungodly hour of the morning, it's a NW to SE pass and you ought to be able to hear the downlink on 145.800 clearly, since it'll pass on the Pacific side of San Diego at about 60 degrees elevation.

The contact is with two schools in the UK.
