I checked my cabin air filter for the 1st time in 6 years. I think it's good for another 5.

OMG... EWW... The worst one I've ever seen was about 10 years old, you could not see the pleats and had something growing on it.

Nice, Chet. Scrape it off and use the stuff for compost.

It's mostly paper, I could just run it over with the mower and let nature handle the rest.

Can you stretch it again?

Nope. :) My next step would be to unstretch my waistline. ;)

Was there any air coming out of the vents??

Sadly, I've seen lots of cabin filters that look like that. And worse. The best are the ones that have a massive rodent nest packed into the ducting above the filter.

I wouldn't even know where to look for one...

They are always somewhere between the cabin air intake and the dash vents. :D

The majority of vehicles have them in behind the glove box. A lot also have them under the under hood cowling. Some are in the plenum below the dash, or in the centre console.

They will be on the passenger side.

Our cabin just has an old wood burning stove in it. No filter needed. :)

Just to put it in perspective for you: Many people are unemployed on their birthdays.

True.

I hope to join their ranks in less than two years.

Birthday #29 was spent in the ER with an inner ear infection so bad that I could not even sit up without falling over.

Birthday #32 was spent in the ER with a goose egg and concussion after being whacked in the forehead with a prybar.

I'm not sure we're making him feel better, but we can't be faulted for not trying.
