One thing I used to like was their calendars.

Me too. I actually had quite a collection of clocks with their pinup girls used for promotions. Sadly I have none left but did make some decent EBay coin selling them.

meanwhile the majority of the rest of the working world are at work at 7:30 in the morning, regardless of what days you work - so why would a garage be any different?

gjl711 wrote in post #17237785 (external link)
7:30 is about my morning break time. My days are variable depending on what needs discussion, but generally the first activity starts at 6:00 my time, sometimes 5:30, so by 7:30 I'm ready for a break. :) One of the downsides of working for a European company, our morning is their afternoon.

LV Moose wrote in post #17237804 (external link)
I'm usually at work around 5:30 AM, out by 6:00 PM. A fifteen minute break in the morning, an hour for lunch.

One good thing about 12-hour shifts... long weekends. I love 'em.

LV Moose wrote in post #17237818 (external link)
In a two-week (80-hour) pay period, I work three 12's, four off, three more 12's and an 8, three off. Four-day weekends are the bomb.

Listening to you guys makes me happy I'm retired, although sometimes I get up really early. For instance, this morning I got up at the ungodly hour of 9:00 AM...

Me too.. the local Snap On guy goes above and beyond for us.

My dealer, Perry, is really great. Very customer oriented, really easy to get a hold of, and quite friendly. When my top chest arrived I emailed him and he showed up within an hour to help set it up.

One thing I used to like was their calendars.

I have an unused calendar from last year sitting in my toolbox. They don't make calendars with guys on them, so it has girls.

Watch the garage sales. I've seen several of them for sale.

The Matco guy still brings us calendars but the Snap On guy doesn't. I'd love to see one with all guys, but women in this industry is very small percentage. Oh well.
