The Matco guy still brings us calendars but the Snap On guy doesn't. I'd love to see one with all guys, but women in this industry is very small percentage. Oh well.

I bug him about that every year. For awhile I would buy the fireman calendars and have them up at work - usually inside my cabinet so they could be hidden. The guys always complained about them, but saw no issue with the calendars they had themselves.
I always made sure to buy the local charity fundraising calendars so no one really could complain too much.

I'm sure some guys would enjoy this as well.

The solution: couples. Something for everyone.

That depends. Sounds like you may be assuming couples of opposite genders. ;)

Seriously, I can't imagine why. I would think it is just fine. Besides, most firefighter calendars I have seen sent the profits to a charity. We are getting lots of women firefighters now, so the calendar might need to be with both genders. ;)

I didn't make that assumption. Each couple would be hetero, though, to provide a man for those who want to look at men and a woman for those who want to look at women. Me, I buy landscape calendars. I just want to know what day it is.

I'm sure, in their minds, that it was highly offensive to see a scantily clad, low fat, well muscled, amazingly hot body that constantly reminded them that they were not that good looking. They had every right to complain that there was one, fairly hidden, calendar of firemen in their work environment. (But it was perfectly alright for every guy to have half naked women taped up in their cabinets)

One calendar I had was the local firemen, with one woman. She's on the Pt. Edward department.

The best one I bought was a double sided calendar. Guys on one side and gals on the other side. However, it always managed to get itself turned around to have the gals on display instead of the guys.

Harm, it is interesting to see the shock wave in the clouds when it first erupts. I don't think I would have wanted to be on that freighter that was closer to it.

No calendar for me. Too many already, pc, phone, everything wants to tell me what time it is. I don't like clocks anymore.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

If the women object to the display of calendars with scantily clad women on them, then the male firefighter calendars should be banned for the same reasons. But, in most places, political correctness is a double standard.

Double standard. That's what I'm up against most of the time.

No one ever says anything about there being girls up on display, but people will sure make comments about men being displayed. I never, ever complain about what the guys have posted, therefore they should not complain about what I have.

Now, I will complain if there is something totally inappropriate. Nakedness is not appropriate for the workplace, but I have not run into that yet.

I also make sure anything I have up is appropriate and not in your face. Charity firemen calendars usually are only topless guys at the most.

I've never had a female complain about my calendars. Usually they come over and look through them.

When I worked in aviation, the company pretty much said no risque calendars. The most that anyone had displayed in the boxes were pictures of their spouses or significant others and those were kept respectable. However, there were guys that had more pictures of their trucks and their dogs than pictures of their wives...
