We have had very little autumn this year...the 20 inches of snow yesterday didn't help. I did get one shot that I like when Jon and I were out in the fog a couple weekends back.

No experience, was thinking of suggesting the sony 2/3rds, but am looking for input here. She has 3 kids and they do sports and is looking for long lenses... Crissa

More info | Nov 02, 2014 21:12 | #7310 So many choices today...if they really want to shoot sports, DSLRs are still the way to go...can't go wrong with any of the systems on the market. Best bet is to visit their local camera store and see what feels good to them. If they are near the city, a trip to B&H or Adorama would certainly go a long way to answering their questions. Nov 03, 2014 08:28 | #7316 we had snow yesterday, but next to no accumulation, maybe 0.5-1" on cars before it melted away by the evening, but it was windy and cold.

I think we got down to about 24 last night. We had one night where it fell below 40 for an hour just before dawn but last night the window fan stayed on all night. Cool but comfy. I hope we don't have another cold winter. Not sure why, but call me JJ.

Jill-of-all-Trades far from having everything figured out! More info | Nov 03, 2014 13:52 | #7319 2 1/2 hours of cleaning, tossing, and organizing and I now have a little more space at one end of the kitchen, one (big) drawer has only 1/4 of the amount of stuff in it, one big garbage bag filled, and the washing machine is full of dish cloths/towels/oven mitts etc. Living in the same house for 30 years is bad enough, but Dad is also a pack rat. Well, all of us have pack rat tendencies, but Dad is the worst. I have just thrown out owner's manuals to appliances that we no longer own, two electric knives that we don't have blades for, and a whole lot of other junk. Melody

Having had to clean out that hoarder/cat lady's house a couple of weeks back has made me hate clutter. The best thing that happened to me was having to move. It forced me to really think a bout each object and whether it was worth moving or not. We were in out IL house for 20+ years and a lot had accumulated. We tossed/recycled about 1/4, gave away 1/4, sold a few of the bigger things and brought the rest. We still have too much and are continuing to reduce the amount of stuff we have. Not sure why, but call me JJ.
