I love looking at all the snow pics and so glad i no longer need a snow shovel.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

If the wind was to shift to the north, we would be the ones buried in snow.

I have many fond memories. Snow shovels have been rather useful tools when I needed to get out of a deep situation.

One of mine is in the back of my truck.

Na snow shovel and fond should not be in the same sentence. :)

Ok, well technically shovel and fond are in different sentences, but they are still way too close.

I suppose a persons relationship with a snow shovel is dependent on what other snow removal tools are available. We never shovel the driveway, that's what a tractor is for.

I had my old Snow Giraffe, a beast of a snow blower. It was big, yellow, old, loud, 3 forward gears, 2 reverse gears, a fling a little or fling a lot lever. That thing would cut through just about any drift without slowing down, even the wet and heave stuff.

The old ones are the best! I see so many people buying lightweight little machines that simply cannot handle the wet snow we get around here. I would want one that actually can relocate the snow to where I want, not just a foot or two to the side.

Last winter, at work, the useless lump that they sent out to clear snow had no clue how to use the snow blower. It was a good sized, powerful machine, but he would push down on the handles and it would drive up over the snow rather than chewing through it. Or when it came to drifts, he'd never take it out of drive and just slowly go through, would end up clogging it and then everything would grind to a halt.

This thing would throw it a good 50 feet at least and the powdery stuff farther than that. It was finicky, the governor was broken so you had to ride the throttle and make sure you backed it off at the turns else it would race like crazy.

Hello everyone! Been a while. Busy with lots of wedding planing for next year. How is everyone doing these days? Pretty warm here in NYC compared to the igloo up north at the moment.
