Freezing rain shuts down the city here. No one ventures out. Dallas has like 2 trucks to deal with snow or ice

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

We've had nice fluffy snow all day. I've been cleaning out cupboards and searching for our cookie press for most of the day. Dad said the roads are really nasty.

Today was gorgeous. Hit a high of 75 and sunny. I had to get out at lunch and take a walk in the park. Trees are finally just starting to show some color.

We are now devoid of most colour. The sunset was quite brilliant though, when it peeked through the clouds. We've had lots of really red sunsets lately.

Backing up my PC using Macrium Reflect free edition. Is it better to clone the HD, or image it? I'm doing image, but I don't really know why.

Isn't clone and image basically the same thing?

If they were, why would back-up programs like macrium and acronis give you the option?

Love his colour!

Phoenix is blonder, but is still definitely red. I like the redder colour.

Happy b-day. I'm glad to see that we are not the only crazies who celebrate out fur-kids birthday in style. :):) Nothing says happy birthday like a meat cake.

Our fur-kids always get special attention on their birthdays. No candles though, the last few have been rather afraid of fire.

I am tired.

BIL dropped off the kiddos this morning and they instantly wanted to play in the snow. They shoveled off the deck and asked for a toboggan.

Then they decided to venture further from the house. Went over near the railroad and were tobogganing down the ditch banks. When they came back Lizzy was complaining that she was "stuck".

They spent lots of time playing outside, and lots of time playing inside. Lego, Lincoln Logs, and Perfection kept them well entertained. Originally I was only supposed to have Elizabeth for about three hours, but my sister asked if I would keep them longer so she could study in peace. Then I offered to feed them supper and keep them longer so she and Randy could go out on a date. I made their favourite supper, chocolate chip pancakes. Dad took them home for bedtime

While they were playing I spent the day working in the kitchen. Tomorrow evening I'm going to a Master Chef style competition with a bunch of friends.
This is the original message that went out:
From the office of Pat Bell:
Warm greetings and salutations dear friends,
You have been cordially invited to compete in a challenge of culinary arts on Saturday, November 22, known as Master Chef. Pat will be assuming the role of Gordon Ramsay and be assigning courses. She will also be criticizing said courses with harsh verbal bombs of anger littered with profanity as only Chef Ramsay could pull off. Obviously this is not for the faint of heart, some may leave crying, know what you are getting into!
This challenge could make you a hero but you will have to be willing to risk it all. There will be drama, action, excitement, and adventure on this cold night of November but only one champion will emerge as the victor.
[This message has not been approved by Pat and there may have been some liberties taken to enhance the invitation.]

Pat is fun-loving, crazy, insane single lady from church who loves being around us 'younger' folks (her daughter is about our age).
I was given appetizers as my Mystery Box challenge, plus bringing buns that everyone knows I make. I decided that variety would be important. Besides the buns, I am making Pig Candy with pineapple, Bacon Cheddar Puffs, and Puff Pastry Sausage Rolls. The buns take a fair bit of time to make. I made the puff pastry dough today as it can be kept in the fridge or even frozen. I also cut up the pineapple chunks. Tomorrow will be lots more cooking, and then lots of eating!

Oh, and the dress code for the evening is pyjamas! :D
