I'm afraid my head would pop.

I only hang for about 5 minutes or so.

Inversion table will do more for you than the faith healer. Don't waste money on a chiropractor...if you have to seek a medical professional, find a competent Osteopathic Physician.

I've never been to a chiropractor but have several family members who have and have had good results. Unfortunately my mom was not one of them. The chiropractor almost paralyzed her. I think that for people who have muscular issues a might help but for my mom, who had a herniated disk, the chiropractor mucking around back there made things a whole lot worse.

I love my chiropractor. With my work and play I end up moving stuff around and need it put back where it belongs. But the bone crushers have their limits, I ended up going to the Canadian Back Institute for physio when I had a pinched sciatic nerve. All depends on what the problem is.

chiropractor....

Yoga, baby!

Well, and other things for better health too. :)

I have been doing yoga for the last few years now, and it has really helped with a lot of aches and pains I was getting, and not I have WAY more spring in my step. I have way more enjoyment doing many of the things that were uncomfortable to my body before. As one example, I can kneel in a canoe for a long stretch, whereas before I could only handle a minute or so through a set of rapids, and that was mostly due to the adrenaline.

It is not a quick fix by any means, as you need to take it slow and easy, building your strength and flexibility at a pace your body can handle.

Like Dan, I balk at chiropractors. I would first go to your GP to start an assessment of what is needed. Not that there isn't a place for chiropractors, but they definitely aren't the end all. Most people I know that use chiropractors, go for a quick fix, but never seem to get healed of their issues.

Not just yoga, but lots of other good exercise helps strengthen the body, helping it face the daily aches and pains better.

Last night I did a 45 minute spin class, followed by a 75 minute yin yoga class, and my body just loves me for it. :)

I do realize that a few people have certain conditions that may not allow what I put forth here, but I believe that no matter what your specific health condition, there is a way of exercising to improve your quality of life.

Of course, at 57 I am a long sight younger than many of you. :p

For me it's this. I feel sluggish and terrible without some exercise every day. Whether it's just a walk or some weight training, an hour a day really help keep my had clear and my body feeling much better. I find it relaxing.

Ugh. My lower back is killing me; feels like it's about to lock up like it does about every 6 months. I feel like I'm about 85 when I'm making my rounds through the module, and don't wanna let the inmates know my condition. And on Thanksgiving morning I've gotta drive seven hours to my daughter's house.

It's going to be a long day. I'm hoping a heating pad and muscle relaxers will help tonight.

Sorry you aren't feeling well, I know the heating pad makes things feel good but ice is the better choice when it is first hurting. If you don't have heated seats I would recommend bringing ice packs and a heating pad to treat your back while you drive.

Thanks. When it first happened I was just getting to work, so I didn't have the opportunity for ice or heat for about 13 hours. When I got home it was pretty chilly in the house, so I chose heat at that point over ice. Didn't help much. Today I had a lunch date with my Dad; we had plans to drive up to the mountains, which he was really looking forward to, and I didn't want to cancel, especially since we won't see him for Thanksgiving. I probably spent about 3 hours driving throughout the day. Every time I tried to slide out of the car and stand up, it was torture. Tomorrow I'm driving seven hours. Hopefully between now and tomorrow morning, it'll get. Little better.

I agree, a splash over ice makes everything feel better. :)
