Jill-of-all-Trades far from having everything figured out! More info | Dec 02, 2014 22:39 | #7683 This one came out really nice. It's a McClary No9 Drip Top Spider. McClary's was founded in 1851 in London, Ontario, which is 80 kms from here. In 1927 McClary and 5 other companies merged to form General Steel Wares of Toronto. So anything that is stamped with McClary is at least 87 years old, and possibly up to 163 years old. Canada is only 147 years old. Melody

Jill-of-all-Trades far from having everything figured out! More info | Dec 02, 2014 23:23 | #7687 This little gem is a mystery. I paid $10 for it. Didn't take much work to restore it, someone took decent care of it. The interesting part about this one is that it has two different manufacturer's stamps on it. Both stamps match authentic logos, but, as far as I can find, there was no crossover between these companies. They were direct competitors, located in neighbouring cities in Ontario. Melody

I have inadvertently found that washing them in a dishwasher with Cascade does a fantastic job. Strips them of everything but then you need to re-season them several times to get them looking good again. Not sure why, but call me JJ.
