A lot of them just sit around waiting to be used. Then I make buns and pull them all out.

Most of them are ones that have been around the house all my life, parents were given a bunch as a wedding gift, and then when my grandpa passed away we got a few more. All but one of them are cheaper foreign made no-names. The first one that I got is a no-name that I pulled out of a pile of junk that we were hired to haul to the dump. I recently restored 5 old, high-quality pans that I got at the auction. There was a 6th in the pile that's not worth seasoning.

These next two have different uses - a nice old roaster and a gem pan.

I like to have a collection that's 100% my own.

And I could always restore something that I don't really need, and give it away as a present, or sell it if I wanted.

This one came out really nice. It's a McClary No9 Drip Top Spider. McClary's was founded in 1851 in London, Ontario, which is 80 kms from here. In 1927 McClary and 5 other companies merged to form General Steel Wares of Toronto. So anything that is stamped with McClary is at least 87 years old, and possibly up to 163 years old. Canada is only 147 years old.
The roasting pan I just won at the auction is a McClary as well.

These two are post-1960 unmarked Wagners. They started using the Made In USA stamp in 1960. The #10 is huge :)

Wow! That's an amazing restoration job.

I'll second that. Impressive!

My wife has one that her great grandmother brought over from Italy. She uses it at least a couple of times per month.

This little gem is a mystery. I paid $10 for it. Didn't take much work to restore it, someone took decent care of it. The interesting part about this one is that it has two different manufacturer's stamps on it. Both stamps match authentic logos, but, as far as I can find, there was no crossover between these companies. They were direct competitors, located in neighbouring cities in Ontario.

jim, you can put virtual frames on your photos too...

just get a nice frame for when the photo of a completed canoe is ready :)

Maybe I will figure the frames out about the same time I finish the canoe. It is hanging from the ceiling now, while I rebuild a 1976 Trillium 1300, a 13' moulded fiberglass trailer, for a wedding present for my baby girl.

This is what I began with.

I suppose I should log off for the night...

I feel the urge to get hostile to the idiots who won't take more than 30 seconds before condemning the entire forum. If I ever had a doubt that humans resist change, it's gone now.

It's not worth raising your blood pressure over those kind of folks. Log off, have a drink, and a good nights sleep.

Those small "classic" trailers are all the rage these days. What are you planning to do to rebuild it?

Mel, how do you restore your pans. I have inadvertently found that washing them in a dishwasher with Cascade does a fantastic job. Strips them of everything but then you need to re-season them several times to get them looking good again.

I saw some of those posts. A few actually saying they're going to quit because they don't like this or that.

Any time there is change, there is unrest. People in general are very resistive to change.

True about resistance to change. I'm a bit lost in here now but I'll figure it out eventually. Everything has a much nicer look.
