I kinda swatted/brushed it off, then turned on the light to see what it was... nice big juicy Black Widow. Must've been in the blanket I had just put over me that hadn't been used for a while. Moose

Jill-of-all-Trades far from having everything figured out! More info | Dec 07, 2014 10:07 | #7761 Creepy crawlies don't often get much of a reaction out of me. I absolutely hate earwigs, but I don't freak out when I encounter them. I have seen Black Widow spiders around here, but they weren't on me. I have never encountered a scorpion outside of a tank, but I really do not like the sight of them. Melody

Traci_Ann I'm a masochist More info | Dec 07, 2014 11:05 | #7762 We have black widows but for the most part they stay out of our home. We do have house centipedes, they are 'good' insects but creepy and run crazy fast. They make a large mess when squished, especially at night on your arm. Sevas Tra

In fact, when we were putting up decorations yesterday, my wife found a scorpion on the wall that hadn't been there a few minutes before. (The scorpion. The wall has been there for a while. I have to make that clear, because there are some wiseacres here who would jump all over that.) Moose

They aren't bad now but you can still see them occasionally. Some bite like crazy but we have these new ones that are huge, about three times the size of the biters. Haven't been bitten by one of those yet but I imagine that it would feel like drilling a 1/8" hole in your arm. Not sure why, but call me JJ.

This will be the first time in... forever... or at least since I've been into photography... that there's nothing on my wish list. Time to die? Nothing on your wish list? That can't be. There is *always* something you *need.*
