I'm going to show my ignorance.

Is iso 200 1 full stop over iso 100?
Would iso 400 be 2 stops over iso 100?
and iso 800 3 stops?

Then I would have to move to ss as to what constitutes a full stop.

Of course that leads into aperture. Sure we have 1.2, 1.4,1.8 etc. But what give me a full stop?

Yes this is correct.

1, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/15, 1/30, 1/60, 1/125, 1/250, 1/500, 1/1000

Full stops are 1.0, 1.4, 2, 2.8, 4, 5.6, 8, 11

So if your settings are ISO 400 - f/2.8 - Shutter 1/125
To get the same exposure at ISO 200 you would have to decrease the shutter speed by one stop to 1/60 or the aperture to f/2.0

If that isn't clear, because I do suck as a teacher, try this link...

To get the same exposure at ISO 200 you would have to decrease the shutter speed by one stop to 1/60 or the aperture to f/1.4

Wouldn't it be F/2? One stop decrease from ISO 400 to 200 would mean that you needed one more stop of light so either shutter to 1/60th or aperture to F/2.

No biggie, I'm also still half asleep and waiting for the coffee to kick in. Just wanted to clarify for whoever asked the question.

Good Morning Moose...

Feels odd to address a person as Moose. A friend was a police officer with a K9, the dog was named Moose.

I used to have Tuesday Fridays as well, it was great! Until the real Friday rolled around and it was my Monday.

As a 25 year old in his first big boy job out of school, what is this "retire" you speak of?

25 year old? Oh boy! All I can tell you is that if you want to retire in 30 years instead of 40 or 50 years, START SAVING NOW!

I could have retired 7 years sooner if I had begun saving when I was in my mid 20's rather than mid 30's.

Some folks never retire. My dad is 72 and still works full time doing the same work he started doing almost 50 years ago. He's a commercial photographer. My dad just LOVES his job, LOVES IT. I have no idea when he'll retire.
