That's really great Chet, and I know two college professors who are working well into their late 70's and thoroughly enjoying it.

I enjoyed my job up until the last two years. It was fun and challenging. Then there was a change in management. Then it wasn't fun anymore.

I'm living that now. :(

Should be a fun Christmas. For the first time in I don't know how long, all three of my kids and their spouses will be at our house, most of the grandkids, a couple of in-laws, three extra dogs... all spending at least Christmas Eve through Christmas night... most spending about four days. Even my Dad will be over Christmas day.

One giant sleep-over-fun-fest.

edit: I'm hoping the scorpions and black widows don't make an appearance-?. That would be embarrassing.

Christmas is at our house this year. 24 confirmed, and possibly a few more. 5 dogs and one cat. Going to be a blast. :-)

I don't know how my water heater is gonna keep up. Sleeping arrangements will be interesting as well.

Sorry to hear that. For some reason I thought you moved to Texas to improve the work situation.

He wants to keep working and doing what he does but he is getting tired of the responsibility of being in management.

Traci_Ann wrote in post #17322475 (external link)
I understand that perfectly. I've considered selling my business and going to work for someone.

A friend of mine did that. He now sits in a parking lot entrance booth 5 hours a day, 4 days per week. He spends most of his time catching up on his reading.

His wife says its the best thing he ever did! Apparently she wasn't adjusting well to having him home all the time.

She said she would have had to kill him otherwise.  :p

Warm up the pool!

A couple of years ago most of us slept over at my Aunt's place. Dad took the couch upstairs, the rest of us were downstairs. Austin (nephew) was on the couch at one end of the room, Elizabeth (niece) was on the love seat, I had an air mattress next to them, then Karen (sister) and her husband Randy were next to me, then Katie (sister) and her boyfriend Steve were next to them. Took up pretty much all of the floor space. In the middle of the night Elizabeth rolled over and fell onto my feet, she didn't wake up so I just picked her up and put her back. My brother and his girlfriend didn't stay the night. Some people showered the night before, others in the morning.

Oh, it's improved greatly sort of like finding out you don't have terminal cancer but just painful rectal itch. ;):)

Nah. Maybe the hot-tub. I like to keep the pool cold; when we play games, sometimes the loser has to jump in. A warm pool just wouldn't be the incentive not to lose.

By the way, I lost at cards during thanksgiving, and had to eat half an onion. That was the worst!

Well, no... snorting ground cayenne pepper was the worst. By far.

And if you scratch that itch, make sure you're not wearing white undies.
