Tequila, I loves me a good tequila, and prefer to sip it like Scotch. Not into getting bombed doing shots, no way.
...

That's what i like to do as well. Not a big fan of the umbrella type drinks but would prefer a high quality tequila for sipping.

my mum never drank, and my dad being the doc was always about "units of alcohol".... yeah, alright...

however, growing up in an area that was once voted 7th best place for a night out, with pubs, bars and nightclubs galore, you just happen to drink. Now I am not a binge drinker, but i can hold my own on the 12 pubs of christmas (a pint in each pub ;))...

I love a nice tequila, scotch is an absolute fave, I am more of a nice smooooooth flavour, when it comes to scotch... I have done the whisky tours - Jim, I heartily recommend it ;)

I also love all the micro brewed beers around here in the US, there are so many choices, the hardest part is, do you go with something you have tried before and really like, or keep on experimenting!!

Umbrella drinks, rum (cuban esp), tequlia, ouzo, absinthe, vodka, mixed drinks, weird drinks (vodka + redbull), shots, shorts, beers, ales, lagers, stouts, you name it they are all good...

I am a true alcoholic :D

oh, just not a fan of piss in a pint, aka, alcopops, or crap like bud/miller etc.

12 pints, eh? I'd be under the table about 1/2 of the way through that tour.

But if you're every out this way Harm, I'll introduce you to a local brew named Pliny The Elder. It's an American Double / Imperial IPA style beer brewed by Russian River Brewing Company. People line up around the block to get some when it is available.

There was a time when I was hard on the beer supply. Now I usually only have a couple when we have a fire. I like wine with a good meal, and I am partial to good Scotch and bourbon, occasionally rum tastes good and I don't mind vodka in my tomato juice. Tequila is just nasty stuff, kerosene would be a better choice. (Yes, I have tried the so-called "good" varieties and they suck) I got served in a bar at 15...never got asked for ID until I was 25. :-P

I went to the LCBO to pick up the vodka a couple of weeks ago. They will ID anyone who looks under 25, I got ID'd. I'm 33.
On my 30th birthday I was in a different location buying rum. Walked up to the cash register and the lady exclaimed "There is no way you are old enough to buy alcohol."
It's always nice to know that you don't look as old as you are, but I do get annoyed when people don't believe that I'm at least 19. So far I have not been ID'd in the US.

I'll try most things alcoholic. Like my beers in various varieties, like a nice apple cider, red and white wines - have a 5l port keg that gets refilled a bottle or so each year. Like whisky, smoother Irish ones than a peaty Scotch. Don't like Bourbon. Will drink tequila but my spirit of choice would be Rum. Love Rum & Coke and the local Bundy Rum (external link) is a favorite. The Bundy bear adds (external link) years ago we great. My favorite steak restaurant (Breakfast Creek Hotel) has a Rum bar, plus they still serve beer off the wood (external link) ie in wooden kegs. Beer off the wood is very different from a bland stainless steel keg or even glass bottles.

I don't drink much at home - maybe once a month or so. I go out to the pub after work - often on a Friday with a group of workmates. We have a micro brewery 100m from work:-D Work Christmas party this Friday arvo is at lawn bowls. Barefoot lawn bowls in the hot sun is while having a few drinks.

Growing up we had wine at dinner from early teens. I've taken much the same track with Aaron. Most of this year he's been at various parties on a Saturday, some of his class mates are over 18 and will have alcohol so we let him take some.

I go with both. There are a couple proven brews I pick up a bottle of on a regular basis, but we all pick up at least one new beer for each 'proven' one we buy.

Not a fan of almost all mixed drinks. Dark rum and Coke now and then, and in the heat of summer, as tequila and tonic with a twist of lime can be quite refreshing.

I don't do shooters any more either.

I'm not a big beer drinker, never have been but my son introduced me to a couple micro-brews which I found really nice. With beer it seems the quality difference is huge.
