Isn't the 'mile' considered an Imperial unit? If so add the UK to that list ;)

We are confused in the UK, all because of the European Union, etc. Measure distance in miles, but buy our fuel in litres, but drink our beer by the pint.
Food by weight is in grams and kilos, not good old pounds and ounces, it seems I weigh 73 kgs now, and no longer 11 stone something!
When the temperature is in the high twenties, we consider it a heatwave, when before we would need to have been in the high 70's.

Guess I'm just being an old fart!! :-D

No, there is a toggle on the web page and for your convenience I flipped it before I did the screen capture. Less mental strain for you :p

I was wondering about that too. °C is much better for me, but I can do the °F'in thing too. ;)
I would be melting in those temps you are getting. I will take the cold any day.

Not too bad today as the humidity is 55%. When it's up higher the sticky heat is the killer. There's a few small thunder storms about so they might cool things down a bit, but if we get them too early in the afternoon the humidity rises.

Y'all talking about it being sweltering when it is 91 degrees Fahrenheit. Just glad it is winter here right now. We only consider that an unseasonably warm day in between the months of November to March.

Yes in the UK. As i now live in Spain, I know what real heat is, whether measured in celcius or farenheight!

Finally made it through a day without a fever!! That was four days straight of constantly taking Tylenol to try and keep it under control.

Glad you are doing better.

I would hate to have to take that much Tylenol. Had too many tests where my Liver levels were just over the line. I did have my gall bladder removed a couple of years ago due to it being acalculus. The levels have been normal the last two times they tested them, but I still have a fear of Tylenol due to the many years my levels were always slightly elevated.

Good to hear you're doing better Melody.

We're in Southern California for the New Years Day Rose Parade. Low 30's F in the morning, high 50's during the day.

I rented the new EF 100-400 II to see if it's really any better and play with while I am here.

And? The 100-400 is one of my most used lenses and i was considering the upgrade.

I only picked it up yesterday and haven't had a lot of time to play with it. Quickie first impression - the improved IS lives up to the hype.

Otherwise it feels a lot like the upgrade from Version I to Version II of the 70-200 f/2.8L. Relatively minor improvements in sharpness around the edges and better IS. But that's just the initial impression.

I need more time to decide whether I like the "twist" zoom or the old "push-pull" zoom better, but in the long run, I think that's a personal preference issue mixed with what you shoot. Seems like the BIF folks prefer the quickness of the "push-pull."

I have it rented through Monday and I plan to spend some time doing comparisons between the two versions. My EF 100-400 Version I is from 2007 and works extremely well with my 1D MkIV and 5D MkIII. It's going to be interesting.

Doing the whole Rose Parade thing was on my wife's bucket list, so later today we're going to visit the areas where the floats are being decorated/finished. Then to a New Years party tonight, and up early to freeze (35 F predicted) while watching the parade. :-D

I had a real love/hate relationship with my 100-400. When I first got it, it was my most disappointing lens. My keeper rate was so low maybe on in 10 shots with decent sharpness. I tested the crap out of it and found it was missing focus by just a tad. Two trips to Canon helped but still, it never delivered a sharp picture. When i got the 50D with MFA and microfocused the lens, the difference in performance was astounding.
