I can't believe the NFL has reversed the Suh suspension. What a bunch of hypocrites. They want to be seen as supporting player safety and foster this squeaky clean image yet when they have the opportunity to do so, they back down. It's time for the NFL to embrace what they really are, thugs, thieves, murders, dopers, wife beaters, child beaters and cheaters.

Thought the reasoning was BS as well. It was mentioned they couldnt use his past infractions to support multi offender? WTF???

+1 to all of that.

I don't like the Cowboys, but when they play the Lions on the 4th, I hope they put on a lickin' on that creep.

And what does the fine even mean? The NFL fines Marshawn Lynch $100K for not speaking to the stupid media. How do the two fines even make sense? You get a serial dirty player getting a slap on the wrist at 70K, where another just doesn't feel like talking to the media after a game.

I love watching the NFL. But it's so screwed up.

The NFL needs to embrace thugery. I can see their ad now.
Our players beat their wives and kids, kick dogs, steal underwear and shovels, park in handicapped spots, run from cops, knock out their girlfriends, drive while drunk, stomp opposing players ankles, smoke pot and do other drugs, punch out valets and so much more. We are the NFL league of bad a$$e$.

I only picked it up yesterday and haven't had a lot of time to play with it. Quickie first impression - the improved IS lives up to the hype.

Otherwise it feels a lot like the upgrade from Version I to Version II of the 70-200 f/2.8L. Relatively minor improvements in sharpness around the edges and better IS. But that's just the initial impression.

I need more time to decide whether I like the "twist" zoom or the old "push-pull" zoom better, but in the long run, I think that's a personal preference issue mixed with what you shoot. Seems like the BIF folks prefer the quickness of the "push-pull."

I had a real love/hate relationship with my 100-400. When I first got it, it was my most disappointing lens. My keeper rate was so low maybe on in 10 shots with decent sharpness. I tested the crap out of it and found it was missing focus by just a tad. Two trips to Canon helped but still, it never delivered a sharp picture. When i got the 50D with MFA and microfocused the lens, the difference in performance was astounding.

I'm not a follower of all the talk on lenses, but do remember several who either had a good copy of bad copy of the 100-400. I've been blessed with a good copy. That said, the friction lock gave out some time ago and so it always falls to full zoom when I carry it, we really need to get it sent in and fixed. I would think the twist zoom would be better in this case plus it doesn't suck in dust like the push-pull does.

I'll be interested in your final analysis of the upgrade.

Hello everyone, it has been impossible to get on the computer during the holiday visitors and watching the grandsons, I'm sneaking in while lunch is cooking. :D

Happy New Year, Greg!!

Thanks Harm,

Happy New Year to all of the RRTPer's.

Woke today to a brief storm, so good to be here at 5:40am 25°C and 75% humidity.

Took myself off to the doctors yesterday to get an opinion on a muscle cramp I've had behind my right shoulder blade for the last three weeks. Started to get concerned about it around Boxing Day when I started to loose some sensation in my right index finger (mostly), thumb and middle finger. Doctor says it's a pinched nerve in my spine around C6 vertebrae as this area related to the shoulders and that finger thumb combination. Rest, better posture and a trip to the physiotherapist are the solution. Can't pinpoint doing anything particular to trigger it but can clearly remember the day the "cramp" started.

It does seem like this is some sort of publicity stunt by the NFL. Any exposure to the game is good, right?

I used to watch a lot of NFL years ago, but almost nothing in the last 20 years. I got so tired of all the hype (though it still is impossible to get totally away from it, as the news seems to love covering it), which to me seemed more like a soap opera than a sport. Everything over analysed and hyped, and the number of truly good games dropped to next to none.

I do have season tickets to the Calgary Stampeders, and love watching the CFL game. With a larger field, and only 3 downs, it makes for way more action on the field, and less grunting it forward like often seen in the NFL. Though, in recent years we are starting to see the hype angle growing more.

Part of the fun is going to live outdoor games. The social atmosphere is a blast, as a bonus to watching the game. Families come out because it is affordable, unlike the NHL games in town.

Rugby League here has suffered the same. The more money involved in the game the poorer the games it seems. Players behaving badly, kicked out of once club only to join another. Coaches working on tactics to slow the speed of the game down ie most clubs had wrestling coaches until the governing body banned them. We want a fast passed game with lots of scoring.
