Yea, I have one like that as well but leaning the other way. Mostly Obama bashing and some pretty harsh stuff. I have dropped him as I got tired of all the propaganda. I don't mind a good political discussion but when it borders on a hateful obsession or is so one sided using untrue or discredited info to push an agenda, I tune out.

For sure, this is exactly what my buddy is like, just hateful propaganda, with no substance at all. I too don't mind discussing politics, and love hearing opposing views, this is the way we learn. This needs to be done at a kitchen table though, and not behind the veil of the internet.

Unfortunately many family members, esp on my wife's side of the family are very politically oriented or religious or army talk. I agree, small talk in a kitchen, but these people are so so stubborn, where I am called to call someone a "hero", because they liberated afghanistan and iraq to allow my freedom etc., I don't even talk to them. Why would I even start up a fb page to see their crap or others who "agree" constantly from other family members. Then there is the religious element that they never say to my face, but on fb it is constantly there (I can see it through my wife's fb page)...

maybe I should start up a fb page, with no family members?

twitter is fine for me right now anyhow.

Luckily, I only have 1 brother, who i keep in touch with all the time, so I don't really need fb.

The kind of posts on FB that really irritate me are things like this:

IMAGE: https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7497/16092063570_ebb9bf11d8_o.jpg
IMAGE LINK: https://www.flickr.com …36800807@N08/16092063570/ (external link)

Some people seem insecure and need to have proof that people are actually paying attention to their posts, so they require some kind of response or repost.

So I responded:
"This kind of stuff annoys me. It reminds me of a third-grader that passes a note... "Do you like me... yes or no." It makes you sound insecure and needy. I'm paying attention, but I'm not going to share your post in order to prove it. That being said, I love you, sis."

Some of her friends didn't appreciate that.

You can friend whomever you wish. For ages, some of my nieces and nephews as young teams were dropped by me, but not are refriended again. You can also choose to not have their drivel show up on your page.

Yeah, those sappy posts get passed right on by, by me. I have learned to scan and decide in an instant if I am going to bother to read most of these type posts.

Another thing, that seems to be waning fortunately, is the people who somehow think you need to know everywhere they are, by posting their location a few times a day. Sure, if you are somewhere interesting, that is different, but to post to show you are at iHop.......really?

^ Well, that explains the cat; I thought my dog did it. And my firstborn is a Carolina Panthers fan, so it looks like they got to him, too.

I've said similar things on the exact same kinds of posts.

People that never post anything of substance, they only share other peoples photos are quickly removed from my friends list. The right/left wing nut jobs and overly religious are all deleted. I don't mind seeing a good political debate and info from all sides but when people say Obama/Bush/whomever is just like Hitler... yea... nut jobs.

Then again, I am sure there are people who dislike my posts about gaming, LGBT news, my general rantings that they've probably hidden me.

My most hated posts, ones that just set me off are the one that share this to show your support for a cure for (disease). Slacktavists! If we could only get 4000 more shares and we'll finally have the cure for cranial rectal inversion. :p

I don't know. I saw it when my sister reposted it to her family and friends. But I'm sure she got plenty of likes, dopey responses, and other reposts.

I would love to visit Middle-earth. I bet those female elves are little freaks in the sack.

Does a topic exist that does not remind you of something sexual?
