Back to the filter post that I'm following. Do any of you guys put the lens cap back in the box as soon as you get the lens, never to be used again, and just keep a filter on your lens full time? Even if you keep a protective filter on your lens, why wouldn't you cap it when not in use? Seems like just puting the camera in and taking it out of your bag might scuff the filter. This makes no sense to me.

Filter or not, there is a reason for lens caps. When the gear is not in use, the caps are on.

These will be my first non-canon batteries. Do you find that the extra capacity makes any real difference in how long they last? they have about 1/3 more capacity than my Canon batteries and especially for the M I am hoping that means more run time. Although I guess it wont matter too much since I have three batteries now.

Edit: I'm gunna be so dissapointed if he doesn't get here til 6. It will be dark then :-(

My Wasabis usually last significantly longer than my OEM batteries, in some instances, nearly twice as long. They are very impressive.

Kody....I have Sterlingtek batteries for my older cameras and have had fantastic luck with those as well.

I've always gone the way of Sterlingtek in the past but since I need to purchase some backups for the new camera I figured I'd ask which is considered to be the better choice. Since you have both, which do you prefer?

Kody....it really depends. Sterlingtek didn't offer chipped batteries like the LP-E6 when I was in the market. Wasabi did, and the price was right. I just needed new batteries for my daughter's 20D and since they aren't chipped, I bought Sterlingtek. I don't think you can go wrong with either brand.

I am loving the modular chargers that come with the Wasabi batteries. I wonder if there is anywhere I can get a couple of the faces so that I could charge two of the same batteries at the same time? Also will the Wasabi batteries charge in the Canon charger? I haven't tried that yet.

I've tried both Wasabi and Canon with each other's chargers. Worked fine. Don't know it affected the charge one way or the other. When I go on a trip, I don't want to worry about bringing both chargers.

This is what I was thinking. I would probably take the Wasabi charger since it gives you the option to car charge from the DC port/cigarette lighter which would be awesome for road trips.

I charge my batteries in whichever charger is handy at the moment, they work interchangeably.

I usually keep the Wasabi charger in the car, so I can do a mobile charge should the need arise.

I like the idea of having the car charger, but have never had to use it.

It's been a while, and I don't know that this situation would ever apply to me anymore, but back in college I worked for an outdoor TV show and we would chew through batteries since we would usually be shooting for 8-12 hr days. We kept a power inverter hooked into the cigarette lighter in the back of the truck and the first thing everyone did when we got to the truck was swap in a fresh battery and put the one we were using on to charge.
