Yeah, I went deer hunting in my early 20's. Got one on my first outing, but that was enough. And I used to shoot rabbits. Now, I'd much rather hunt with a camera. I get much more out of viewing critters in the wild than killing them. In fact, the older I get, the worse I feel about any animals being killed on my account. For now, I still eat meat, but I can foresee a day when I may go vegetarian. I used to think those people were nut-jobs. Not so much anymore.

I am all for hunting for the sole purpose of gathering food, responsibly. Hunting purely for sport (and this includes fishing) is not something I support.
Hunting down and dealing with problematic vermin is part of life. I learned at a very young age how to deal with coons in a barn.

I always have, and most likely always will, eat critters. I (most of the time) pay attention to where the critters are from. Living in a prosperous farming community allows for a good variety of options. If I want a beef that has been raised in a specific manner, fed specific foods, not given steroids/antibiotics, etc, I know who to buy it from. Or order one to be raised in that manner. All depends on what you want to pay.
In the last several years, my uncle converted the farm over to an organic operation. They even got an organic certification for the milk cows (which they don't have anymore).
Also, having grown up in a dairy farming family (both sides of my family have always been farmers), I will always be a milk drinker.

Good to know. So I could get away with my 5DIII + 70-200 f/4. I'm surprised you only used 1/250; not too slow? How about indoor basketball?

The halftime cheer show turned out great, sharp and in focus. I took some shots of the basketball game while waiting for half time. 1/250 was a bit slow but still many useable shots. Not understanding much about the game I missed out on some nice action shots.

I don't think I have every agreed with someone's stance on hunting more. +1 for being a reasonable human.

I have been hunting a few times, mostly with a bow, but a couple times with a rifle. Every animal we killed was used to the fullest extent possible. (hide and all). My extended family ate VERY well those few times.

Neighbour #3 just cleared our driveway. :D

Neighbour to the west has a backhoe, neighbour to the east has a tractor with a bucket and a snowblower, neighbour to the north has a tractor with a bucket. All three of them love playing with their toys in the snow.

We had rain for the last couple of days, today we are back to the dense fog. I feel like I live on the west side of the state again.

I'll take snow over that!!

Especially when all the snow we've been getting is fluff. :)

BIL just dropped off my niece. She was up coughing most of the night so she stayed home from school today, but Randy just got called into work. She wants to watch TV and sew, so we're setting up camp in the basement with the old TV and my sewing machine. She's gonna make a fish while I work on a quilt.

I am going to have a long boring day. We had two very large jobs scheduled for today, both rescheduled. One other job cancelled (problem fixed itself, lol) and one no show so far... the employees are cleaning... and whining.

I hate days like that! Every now and then it's nice to have time to clean and organize, but that gets old quick. Especially if it happens day after day.
Last January we were swamped due to the extreme cold, then February hit, we caught up, and I had to go searching for work.

I'm here at the Toyota dealer for my initial 5k mile service, and they tell me they don't need to change the oil until 10k, because it's synthetic. Does that sound right? I mean, I know you don't need to change synthetic as often as dino, but 10k seems excessive.

10k is pretty common for full synthetic oils. On my Audi A8 it's recommended every 15k.

I just looked up a couple of 2014 Toyota's and most are 10k for the first then 5k after that, what year and model is yours and I will get you the factor service table.
