Price is a bit high but this looks like a winner. I have been waiting to upgrade my 5DII for a long time. Now to decide if this is the one or the Sony A7r or the A7r replacement.

That's going to be a tough decision. I'm wondering how well the older Canon lenses will work with the new 50mp sensor. I'd love to see some samples of that - like the 35L or 50L.

And then there is the unknown about the rumored 5DIV -supposedly coming out in the 4th quarter of this year.

As the pixel density is about the same as the 7D, I would think that the lens performance would be about the same as well.

And this is how the canadians use the trains in snow:

Wonder how much the engineer can see about what's coming with all that snow, both blowing around and piled on the windscreen.

Maybe it is one of Google's Driverless Train perhaps?

I didn't read the nitty-gritty about the 5Ds. I wonder if the DR has been improved over the 5DIII.

I'd been wondering how trains deal with snow on tracks. There's the answer.

I don't think we will know that until DxO gets hold of one.

Seems like this is causing some commotion...

http://www.dpreview.com/previews/canon-eos-5ds-sr (external link) "As far as dynamic range is concerned, we're told that the new 5DS and 5DS R should give the same performance as the current EOS 5D Mark III. If true, this means that the new cameras won't be able to offer the same industry-leading dynamic range of Sony's current APS-C and full-frame sensors, but at least it isn't a step backwards." Already a lot of moaning going on in the comments of that review.

'cause it would be awful if he lost control of the steering, and plowed (pun intended) into an oncoming train, eh? :p
