Blind faith...

In reality though, why do you need to see anyway? It's not like you can turn out of the way or anything. Trains are pretty much committed to a certain path. :):)

Re. Same dynamic as the 5DIII... Kinda disappointing.

Maybe a little but I think that this beast is priced a bit high. The D810 is it's main competition and it is quite a bit less expensive. Maybe this guys price will drop after Canon milks the fist adopters.

Other than having to see signals, signs, crossings, and the occasional broke down vehicle on the tracks....
They do have wipers that they could use.

I wish the snow piled up on the tracks like that around here, would love to photograph the trains going through it, but the tracks are mostly at a higher elevation than the surrounding fields. And it's a busy line here, so unless there was a reason for the trains to stop, the tracks wouldn't fill in that much.

'cause it would be awful if he lost control of the steering, and plowed (pun intended) into an oncoming train, eh? :p

If you don't see it, you can't brake for it. Ask the people on that train in New York that just ran into a SUV that tried to beat the gates at the crossing. And from the look of it, that wasn't a gated crossing in the video. Just flashing warning lights.

I was just kidding. Don't go getting your panties in a knot.....Oh wait, they aren't allowed under a kilt, are they. :lol:

That train threw snow over the windshield more than most too. A lot of the plows I have seen are separate push cars in front of the locomotive.

I have seen the snow plows on the front of an engine in action before. Really cool, they basically look like big square turbines in the front, sucking in the snow, then throwing it out the shoot. The snow shot out a couple hundred feet too. One big mother of a snowblower, that's for certain.

And at that point, the engineer couldn't have stopped the train in time even he wanted to...

There certainly seems to be lots of pissing and moaning about the new 5DS...all from idiots that haven't seen or used one yet.

* This sensor will out-resolve every lens Canon makes, the images will be unusable.
* Too many megapixels for practical use.
* Did you see the price tag? Canon is just trying to gouge the consumers.
* Dynamic range, dynamic range, dynamic range...
* I bet it has banding issues.
* It doesn't have ISO 2,000,000
* They lied, I know it has a Sony sensor.
* We waited 3 years for this?
* Only 5 FPS? I shoot sports, and they think this is acceptable?
* Did I mention dynamic range?
* It features FF, 1.3 and 1.6 crops? There is a hokey gimmick!
* Noink is still better.

Like always, there are going to be those people that would **** if you hung them with a new rope. I think I'll wait and see what the camera can actually do before pronouncing it a dud.

Witness said that the gates came down and struck the car...the woman got out and tried to lift the gate and couldn't....got back in car and drove forward.

Yea, the complaining is a bit premature and some of it pretty stupid, but I can see whee some of them are coming from.

Same here. This would have been perfect for work but I have already switched to Nikon so they are a bit too late.

Doesn't that happen with every new body announcement?

It seems to be lately. Didn't use to be that way. canon was always pushing the envelope and everyone else was catching up. Since others have caught up and passed Canon in some areas, the complaining has grown much louder.

But you'd miss all that entertainment if they didn't complain! :p :lol:
