As far as the gov'ment is concerned. I'm sure my friends would claim otherwise.

My wife and I went to movie Saturday night and bought a large popcorn and large Coke. Should've been about $13 (as ridiculous as that sounds), but the kid behind the counter only charged me $8.90. I just looked at my wife and shrugged. Then I looked at the receipt and noticed I had gotten a senior discount.

I'll take it. :-)

Lots of people must get Presidents day off. Traffic this morning was a breeze.

BTW, I can't remember a single instance where any of my employers gave us a snow day. Plenty of times recommended not coming in but the office was still officially open for those that wanted to brave the elements. Last years ice storm was like that. The city was essentially shut down as roads were impassable but the office was still open.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

I'm holding on to my student ID since a lot of places give student discounts around here, I'll keep using that until someone tells me I can't.

That is what I was expecting. Our official office policy is that if the schools are out in the county we have an hour delay but the office stays open. I got a call from my boss this morning telling me to not worry about coming in today since the roads were already bad and its supposed to keep snowing pretty much all day.

You can't use it if you're no longer enrolled as a student. Now you've been told.

You can still get a discount by going to matinees, and they're often less crowded!

You're still a student at the school of hard knocks. Keep the ID.

Matinee price here is $8 a ticket which isn't too bad, not as good as the $5 student price which includes the prime time showings though. Either is WAY better than the $13 for normal admission that's a little crazy in my opinion.

Saving this away for the first time anyone questions the ID. We also get a discount at a lot of local food places, and no cover a couple of local bars. I'm gunna have to milk that thing for all its worth.

I tried that with a cat once. Didn't end well for me.

You guys are damned snow-hogs. Send some this way. Or at least to western Colorado so we get the run-off.
