I don't mind the dry. I hate humidity worse. In the summer Chicago was way worse than Dallas in terms of comfort even though the temperature was much lower. 80, even 75 and near 100% humidity is so much more uncomfortable than 100 and dry.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

I don't like high humidity either, but the humidity in the places I mentioned isn't same as it is in places like Missouri, Illinois, and most of the SE states.

That's true, but cold and humid is pretty nasty as well. West of the cascades it's gorgeous country but it's also very damp.

I like damp. I like rain, fog, mist, clouds. We lived on the east side of the Cascades for several years... Spokane and then Ellensburg... but would travel to the west side from time to time. I could take living there, but the wife wouldn't like a constant diet of that weather.

Come on down south for a bit we get 95-100 Degree with some wonderful 98% Humidity. From the middle of June through the middle of September the air just has this weight to it that makes doing much physical labor outside a much more draining experience. As much as we complain about the heat and humidity during summer, if you can catch Kentucky or Tennessee during the the first two weeks of October or the last two weeks of May it is usually absolutely perfect. I don't know quite how to describe it, it's the type of weather where you just forget that there is a temperature and all you are really conscious of is the breeze and the sunshine. It's wonderful.

Dallas has those days as well but mostly when it get really hot, it also gets really dry. I don't min the heat, that's what pools are for. :) The humidity though can be stifling.

You don't get this in the desert. We had heavy fog last night so this morning the world was covered in hoar frost.

Hiking weather in the desert today. Maybe a little warmer than I would have liked at 75F.

Not bad temps for the desert. I have hiked a bunch in Southern Utah in warmer, and suffered and enjoyed at the same time. You seem to take your daughter on a bunch of these hikes.

Voluntarily closed the shop today just because I wanted a 3 day weekend. Hopefully anxiety of not working on a work day won't ruin my day off.

Pretty much all of Dallas and Ft. Worth are shut down. Had a sleet storm this morning and the roads are closed.

Funny weather. We were hiking in 75 degree weather a couple days ago, and last night we got snow on the west side of the valley, and about a foot on Mt Charleston.

And up here in the cold, cold north, the forecast is for 10°C (50°F) today. The sun is shining brightly. Crazy stuff, I tell ya.
