Shot the moon tonight, for no particular reason

Did Moose just moon us?

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

Correct, on a 5DIII with a 1.4X TC. On a tripod.

I've found that using the same combination on my 40D with less cropping gets me very similar results, but with more noise at the same ISO of course.

That would make sense as the pixel density between the two cameras is almost the same.

Living in Chicago we always use to say, "Don't like the weather, wait an hour and it will change" and it was sort of like that. However, here in Texas the changes happen much faster and with much greater range. For instance, the last 48 hours have been, starting with 70 and sunny. Went to sleep and woke up to an ice storm and freezing. By noon the sun was out and the ice gone back to 50. At night, the cold front blew in and it rained, then snowed until mid-morning. At noon the sun came out and back to the mid-50s and snow gone. Went to bed and it was balmy. Woke up, let the dog out and it was still nice. Took a shower, ate breakfast and headed to work and when I left the house it was again freezing and really windy. It's crazy.

Sounds exactly like Kentucky in March, we've just had our first upswing in temperature today. Went from about 12/15 yesterday and below zero the day before that to 33 today... and so it begins...

Sounds like San Diego but we don't have ice and snow, at least at the lower elevations.

Looks like I may be headed to Niagara Falls tomorrow. They've pretty much frozen up again this year, reports say that plenty of water is still flowing underneath.
