Everyone must be at the beach....

Not me though, you can keep the sand to yourselves!

The beaches here are buried under ice and snow. Swimming is not advised.

Long Beach is very nice, but I prefer a bit farther north, by Santa Monica. The Santa Monica Pier is a great place to wander, watch people, or have some libations and nosh. Just to the south is Venice Beach, which is one of my favourite places to sit and people watch, while sipping an Erdinger, nibbling on a fresh pretzel, all while listening to a street musician perform. I have done this a few times in the past. Very relaxing and entertaining. Some interesting shopping too, we have brought back a few items for decorating the house from there. Or, there is watching the people perform on Muscle Beach. That is always fun, as there is a wide variety of talented people, practising various forms of gymnastics. Never boring...... :)

I've heard of many places called Long Beach, but never a Short Beach... I suppose there has to be one somewhere.

That must be where the short pier is located.
