Its hella difficult to tie shoelaces one handed. :-x

My dad had to do that from the time he was 19, until he passed away fairly early at 78.He had lost his arm then, and had to adapt a lot of things in his life. It actually drove him to be quite creative, and he invented a lot of things to help him. Plus, he was right handed, and that was the arm he lost. As his first born, I was commonly referred to as his Right Hand Man.

My uncle was about 16 when he lost his arm to a forage harvester. Was right handed, lost the right arm.

Growing up, us kids never had to be schooled on farm safety. No one ever hid the story from us, we knew exactly what would happen if you put your hand in the wrong spot.

Well at least it wasn't an electric pump. Gas engines can be dried out and put back to work. Cleaning the pool may be a bit more annoying.

I checked the pool for the rainbow sheen of gasoline, but didn't see any. Even held a lighter to surface. ;-)a

Siphoned out the gas from the motor, and put a little rubbing alcohol in, took the spark plug and air filter out, cranked on it about 100 times just to spit out any water that might have been inside. Then I waited a few hours, put gas in it, put the spark plug back in, and after another couple dozen pulls, it started up! It died a couple times, but after it stayed running I let it get nice and hot to cook out whatever water might have been here or there.

Fortunately my situation is temporary. I'm getting pretty good with most of the one handed stuff, but I'm not there yet with shoelace tying on my hiking boots.

The biggest trick is using all your fingers to hold the laces snug when you try to tie the bow.

Bummer. Small gas engines and pools don't play well together. -?

Just got done with my ortho doctor and he grounded me for 3 more weeks. I'm going stir crazy at home. Tried to take a nice long hike this morning by myself. It didn't go well after one of my shoelaces came loose. Its hella difficult to tie shoelaces one handed. :-x

Dang Moose, that sucks.

So far I've binge watched 300+ gigabytes of movies and TV shows on Netflix and Amazon Prime.

We have been doing that with series. We are just finishing up NCIS, Nurse Jackie, and a few others. We have several lined up ready to go. The series are much mre enjoyable when you watch them all in a row.

In my mind, a good TV series is one that you can watch random episodes and enjoy them, but also can marathon watch every episode in order and really enjoy it. I don't like series' where if you miss an episode, you're lost. NCIS is a good one. I love the original and New Orleans is doing pretty good so far.

I really enjoyed the new Harry Bosch series. The lack of commercials also make for a better viewer experience.

I keep telling my wife we need to cut the cord and dump cable TV, but she's not ready for that yet.

We had to renew our cable this december. I had turned them down and we were on the verge of cutting all but the internet portion of the cable. That's when the deal making began. We ended up with the middle package, all of the premium channels, phone, and internet for $95 a month. We took it. Right now we are DVR-ing Thrones. It's our next series I think.
