I really love the snow but I'm enjoying the sunny 75F weather we've been having lately.

We haven't hit temps that high yet, mid 50's on the nicer days. We have several weeks to go yet before we're past frost potential.

I've been busy panicking over closing the business... 10 days left. So much to still do.

Hope that it works out for you.

Late yesterday heard a loud bang that rattled the house. Thought at first it was a small earthquake like the ones we have from time to time.

Later that evening, I could not open the garage door. One of the garage door torsion coil springs had snapped. My car is trapped in the garage until the repair guy comes out later today.

It's crazy when those let go! One day I just happened to look up at the top of the back garage door at work and watched the spring break. Pieces went flying as the springs untwisted. It was one of the huge, double wide, full height doors, so it was a big spring.

THose springs can cause some serious damage. There is a lot of energy stored in there. My old neighbor was re-tensioning his and he had the locking bar on the wrong side and as soon as he released the lock not, the spring flung the bar so hard it went through the wall on the far side of the garage. 2 sheets of drywall and insulation were nothing compared to a screaming steel bar. :)

Yeah, if they launch pieces it's lethal. The one that I watched sent pieces flying but they all just landed in the middle of the shop. Back when I worked at GM one of the really big springs let go overnight. There were pieces everywhere, and some of them were rather big as it pretty much shattered.

A really scary situation is when a coil spring comes out of the spring compressor. Last winter I was changing front shocks on a F150. I was kneeling down in front of the compressed spring, trying to put the plastic sleeve back in place, when the spring sprung itself loose. Luckily two of the hooks managed to hold on and it didn't go flying. If it had, I would have been toast. I managed to escape with just some severely bruised knuckles.

Oh, and the lasagna is in the oven. Should be done just before I have to leave for Toronto. Have to drive 35 kms west to pick up the guys, and then head 300 kms east to the airport. And then drive home. Gonna be a late night on the road.

Methinks you need to move the NW soon. You have complained more than once about this. I don't blame you one bit though, I would be complaining bitterly.

Which means it should be just about perfect after you reheat it when you get back home!

I loved playing football in the mud. Nothing compares to the feeling of burying the QB in mud from a blind side blitz.
