I loved playing football in the mud. Nothing compares to the feeling of burying the QB in mud from a blind side blitz.

i am talking real football, not american football.

still though, i hear you, when i played rugby, and you did a tackle in the mud....

but today, was a couple of slide tackles etc., in downpours!

grass fairy football, yea, I played that as well but not nearly as satisfying. Rugby on the other hand is nuts.

I'm enjoying it right now! I did manage to scarf down some before I left, but it was burning hot and hadn't sat long enough. Was still tasty though.

Just got home after driving for 6 1/2 hours. Went through several bands of heavy snowfall. The Toyota Matrix is a decent enough car, but my truck is much comfier.

Football is wonderful in the mud, used to head out on Saturdays and we all loved playing in the slop.

I love playing baseball in the rain, as long as it's too cold. Most people hate it, but I love it.

My 580EXII has decided not to work anymore Everything looks fine; the controls and settings work... just no flash. Tried it on two different bodies, new batteries, etc.

do you hear the capacitor charging? (high pitch sound)

Tried the troubleshooting tips on p. 50 of the manual? It's not set to "Master" with "Master flash off"?

I'll check that stuff later on. I'm at work right now. Thanks for the ideas.

That's my weapon of choice. A lot of folks say IS is useless for macro. I highly disagree; it's on 100% of the time for me (except those rare occasions when I use a tripod).

Even for shooting live insects in the field? It often requires difficult postures, getting down near ground level and so on.

I don't say it's useless. But if you hang out in the macro forum, when people ask for suggestions on lenses, I'd say well more than half the respondents say IS is of little use for macro. I freakin' love it.

My IS is almost always turned on....it helps.
