No....neither one is HDR. Both single exposures...no HDR processing on either.

Nice Dan. I think they accomplish what you were going for.

Then did you up the saturation? I never get such rich colors outdoors.

Colors are mostly a product of curves and levels adjustments...with a slight bump of the vibrance slider in LR.

We visited the Grand Canyon Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. The weather was less than ideal for photography; lots of clouds, wind, and some haze. We even got rain and sleet both days, which I kinda liked. But I'm funny like that. Lightroom allowed me to save a few shots from the bin.

I have yet to visit that big hole in the ground. I need to get out there.

The south rim is about 4.5 hours from our house, but we only get out there once every few years. Tomorrow were taking the furkid to the coast for a couple days to enjoy the dog beaches.

They have a nice bus system that will take you to numerous stops, where you can ooh and ahh until you want to catch another one. They come by every 10 or 15 minutes. A nice trail pretty much allows you to walk as far along the rim as you desire.

I'm a big hiker. I would love to walk down to the bottom and catch a ride back up. :)

When I was much younger, I did the hike down to Phantom Ranch...and back up. No ride either way. It's a fantastic hiking experience, but I doubt I could do it now. The Kaibab Trail downhill is murder on your knees and hips. Also, back then I didn't have to make a reservation a year in advance like you do now.

We did that hike 15 years ago, to the river and back up. That hike is no joke. This time my daughter, her hubby, and kids went. My wife and I stayed at the top and did our own thing.
