For me, it was a wonderful day when I removed everything iTunes (and Apple) related from my computer. My iPod got turfed, and I now enjoy some of the great apps available for music, ones that let me have control. Plus, I got rid of those constant aggravating updates that Apple wanted me to do. Songs bought at $0.10 have saved me a bunch as well, instead of the $1 a pop from iTunes.

Can you use these these second party apps on an iPhone?

I don't know if I can or not. I don't have an iPod, but I love the phone. Hate iTunes.

As of this morning, I am now officially a licensed mechanic. :D
I'm interested to know what my mark on the exam is, but that will have to wait until I get the snail mail. For now, my status online has been changed.

Kinda my take too. I have nothing against the phone, I know a few users. But, iTunes just was not flexible at all.

Congrats! Bust a knuckle! (Isn't that a good luck saying, like telling an actor to "Break a leg") :)

Way to go Mel, congrats.

On the music player front, I have never been a i-Tunes person but my wife is. Based on her periodic rantings, I'm guessing it's problematic. I use to have a mp3 player but everything now is on my phone. I have two different players as each does things a bit differently but generally use an app called "Music player" Small and simple and easy to navigate. No importing or exporting, just drag and drop from my pc. So easy.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

Not sure I have tried that one, or not, Dan. I have given a few a go. For some reason I seem to prefer Double Twist.

Thanks guys! It's a lot of pressure off. Now I just need to finally land a job back in a shop.

I have a mp3 player that I use daily at work. If I'm going to wear earmuffs to block out the lawnmower, I may as well be listening to tunes. I do put some music on my phone, but it's not my primary user for music.
I only use iTunes for stuff for the phone, and buying some occasional music. I don't spend much on music. I'd love to find somewhere to buy music at a cheaper price.

This is where I buy most of my music. $0.10-$0.15 per song, $1.00-$1.50 per album, in most cases.

That's more in my price range.

I got my 580EXII back from Canon a few days ago. It wasn't firing. They replaced the reflector, saying it was broken, causing the flash to "not fire properly." It wasn't firing at all; how does a broken reflector cause that?

Oh, well, I got it back and it works. Looks brand new, in fact. And I have to say, I don't think I've ever seen a piece of gear packed so well.

You can buy a bulb yourself, and I've seen youtube videos on how to replace it (takes some soldering and some taking apart). Maybe Canon does them both together to save time and effort. I dunno.

The bulb didn't have any discoloration as it might if it was fried.
