Two incredibly talented players...great listen.

I remember seeing Eric Clapton in concert a good twenty years ago, along with his backup guitarist, Mark Knopfler. This was not too long after Dire Straits dissolved. What a fantastic concert. Knopfler was so awesome as an accompanying guitarist, not upstaging Clapton at all (something almost impossible to do), but in the fairly long encore, they rocked out a few Dire Straits songs. One of my favourite concerts ever.

Knopfler, Clapton, and Atkins are among my top favourite guitarists. John Lee Hooker, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Carlos Santana, David Gilmour, BB King, Albert King, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, Mick Taylor, Jimmy Hendrix are up there too. This is not to discount many, many more great guitarists we have gotten to listen to over the years.

BTW, Happy Father's Day to all you Dad's out there.

It has been very quiet in here as of late. Nothing but these buzzing around.

I photoshopped in a dime just to give scale. I used the motor crack to calibrate the dime image. Not perfect but pretty darn close. This guy was huge. Looked him up and he's Tabanus atratus, which translates into gigantic freakin' black fly.

Looks to be about the size of the big black Carpenter Bees we get here. Those things get your attention when they buzz around your head.
