I don't get that crap at all. So I guess I'm baseless :-(

Too bad we don't have 27 fingers. It would have been fun counting in base-27. Also, which hand would have the odd finger? Put a whole new spin on left/right handedness.

Use all your fingers and toes, ears, elbows, knees, and penis (or your nose if you're a female).

Well, as base zero in not possible, that would make you irrational.

Yeah, Glenn Close was quite the nut job in that one.

Kim Basinger was in 9 1/2 Weeks. Yummy.

Baseball night tonight. We circled the bases 26 times. I had a bad night and never got past first base. :( Got caught out, thrown out, or someone else got tagged out for the third out. But I picked up a handful of RBIs.

26 runs?

You guys have no mercy.

Unless your team had no defense either...

There's no mercy in innings 8 and 9. Before that, there's a 7 run mercy rule per inning.

We won, but not by a whole lot. It was a high scoring game. The field we were playing on has no back fence, so a deep hit just keeps rolling. Both teams have people that can hit really deep. It was also pouring rain for most of the game, so defense was a struggle.

We just started the playoffs. We're in first place, they are in second. Tied at 8-2, but we have the +/- differential over them. We play two games against them and the total score determines the winner.

A thing I'm glad I had on my recent trip: a filter wrench. My wife picked up my camera bag, which was unzipped, and out fell my 24-70 with a B+W CPL attached. Made the threads go wonky and I couldn't unscrew the filter from the lens. Luckily I had a cheap little filter wrench in the bag and managed to get it off. No harm, no foul.

A thing I had, and lost, and miss: Remote cord. I used the tripod a lot on this trip, and always used a remote shutter release. Two days before we headed home, I lost the cord. Using the camera timer sucked! Trying to take pictures of my wife and I at Lovers Point in Pacific Grove I had to hit the 10 sec timer, then scramble over uneven rough granite to get to my spot. Many attempts, a couple of which worked out okay. The others... I fell over twice trying to quickly sit on a rock next to her, twice more scraped up my leg on the rocks, and didn't make it in time for a few other shots. I ordered another cord the day I got home. I'm too old for that crap.

I'm not a fan of filter wrenches. Most jammed filters are like yours, the threads get crossed and using a filter wrench just powers through the unscrewing process damaging the filter threads as well as camera threads. Screws do not like to be unscrewed while cross threaded.

A much better way I have found is to carefully examine the filter and you will spot one section where the space is closer than the rest. When you find that spot, with a pocket knife, steak knife or other sharp flat implement, place it in between the filter ring and camera ring and gently twist the knife. Many times you will feel a slight pop as the thread slips back into place. It can then be un-threaded normally. The only time a filter wrench is handy is if Moose Cholak screwed in the filter so hard, that you cant get it started.

Well, I turned it opposite direction first (tightening slightly), then reversed. It was hard to get off, but after I did, I tried screwing it back on a couple times and it seems to thread on and off just fine. Guess I got lucky :)

I've also needed the use of a pair of wrenches more than a couple times when separating a CPL from a step-up ring.
