The explanation is quite simple, but involves a fair bit of reading to fully comprehend. You can start here.

Nutshell version is that this all started with a large number of Oregon and WNC people participating, as a result of which WNC was annexed by the Oregon people, along with the denizens thereof.

The Oregon folk are a bizarre cult ;)

On the flip side, you could have chicago weather?

Actually, we are experiencing a late fall tagging behind our late spring and late summer.

Got our first frost this weekend, usually we have our first frost toward the end of September. Forecast calls for some low to mid 70's next week. Since it has been known to snow in October around here, we'll take it.

<--- not in Chicago, north west of the city, thank goodness, out in corn and soy bean country.

Ok. But I thought that as of yesterday his "location" simply said "Eastern Oregon", with no mention of Tupperware or North Carolina. So I was thinking that he changed his location information since yesterday when I posted my response to his post. Is this the case?

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

I'm pretty sure it's said that same thing for years now, or at least some variant of that.

Nope, he's had the "Leicester, NC" part as long as he's had the "Eastern Oregon".

Well, that explains it, then. I need to pay much more careful attention to everything I read.

First day at the new job is in the bag. I'm still alive and still wanted back in the morning, so it went well. It's an old school shop, so everything is done by hand. I'm used to doing everything on the computer and online, but now I'm hand writing everything. Except they do have a debit/credit machine. When I went in before just to talk about the job, Steve said he needed someone who had readable hand writing. I'm starting to think that neat hand writing should be listed on my resume. Even when I was at Ford I had a lot of people continuously commenting on how nice it was to be able to read my writing. And my writing is nowhere near as nice as my moms was.

Good for you. I hope you end up liking it.

I can't write cursive neatly at all; very ugly. I just print if I need to write by hand, and my hand cramps up quickly. Sending out Christmas cards sucks for me.

Other than my signature, which is more chicken scratch than writing, I haven't written cursive since high school.

Cursive is my preferred method of writing. Actually I do a combination of writing and printing. Some of the letters I have never really mastered in cursive, so I tend to print them. Or just do a simplified cursive letter. It's my own style, but it's very readable, unless I'm writing really fast or my hand hurts, then it gets sketchy.

I developed the ability to print rapidly and accurately in the Navy. It's a necessity when you have to keep logbooks as things are happening quickly.

My writing is abysmal... oh... actually my printing is abysmal... my writing is worse... coincidentally had a conversation today with a friend and he said writing (cursive?) Is no longer taught in schools... so enter the computer age where "yikes!" If we have to actually write an old fashioned note to the oncoming 5 o'clock shift because as a minion we don't have access to a computer! May as well be an incomprehensible doctors note.... potentially...

Oh... umm... Good for you Jill!

ya know, you can print a note. I don't have a problem with cursive going away. All too often it is incomprehensible and messy.
