Is "a once-a-month landscape service" code for something you elderly folks get/give on an occasional basis?

No, it's literal. It means hiring someone to do yard work.

You guys!

My son temporarily moved back in while he's getting settled in TX so I now have a built in landscape service. I have not mowed, edged, trimmed the verge all summer long. :) I'm kind of liking a landscape service.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

I've never been kicked out of anywhere ............. just beat a retreat before getting booted!!

Great minds think alike! :-D

And so do we!

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

I have heard some more information about that accident I found a couple of weeks back. An acquaintance is the officer that was tasked with notifying the family. The guy was from Ukraine, had worked in several countries in the UK, worked in the U.S., and then moved to Canada to work. I found out where he and his friend lived, knew the house well. He died 300 metres from his driveway.
Traffic Investigation is still working on what all happened.

Melody, were the two in the car not brothers after all, just friends?

Yes. Turns out they were not related. At the scene the guy was saying it was his brother, but that was probably a translation error. Guy was rather drunk and had a head injury.

Thanks. Maybe he used "brother" loosely, as a term of affection. Some people get emotional that way when they're drunk.

That is particularly interesting to me, because friends of mine who go to Canada frequently for long-term photo trips have told me that Canada does not let aliens live there (permanently) or work there. My one buddy actually considered moving to Canada and getting a job there, but was told that he wouldn't be able to because Canadian immigration law does not allow it. I guess my friends heard some inaccurate information.
