I was more of a Mary Ann fan. Good thing; Ginger aged horribly.

Eating breakfast on the patio this morning, we were joined by a pair of ducks. After letting them stick around to share blueberry pancakes, it was time to unleash the hound; don't want ducks making themselves at home in our pool.

Hmm...you fed them snacks, let them play in the pool, then had a hound chase them away...

How did that work? For practice, you could try that with some neighborhood kids!

They had to be chased off, regardless. At least I nice enough to feed them before sending them on their way. If I wasn't concerned about keeping the pool clean, it would've been kinda cool having them as long-term guests. Ducks are cute.

And tasty if prepared properly.

I bet puppy had fun chasing them ducks!

At work they have a birthday list. Everyone on the list gets goodies for their birthday. After your birthday, you're in charge of bringing in the goodies for the next persons birthday. You have to bring enough for everyone in the dealership to share. My birthday was last Monday, it was also Greg's birthday. Sarah brought in some really awesome chocolate/peanut butter/caramel stuff. Jeff's birthday is tomorrow, so on Monday Greg and I are bringing the goodies. Jeff really has lucked out. Greg is going to stretch his cooking skills and make some rice crispy squares. Jeff said he likes pretty much everything, but pie has topped the list. So this weekend I am making apple pie and mississippi mud pie. Enough of it to feed the dealership.

Jeff told me not to set the bar too high, because he then has to bring in goodies for Kristin's birthday. Kristin and her dad own the dealership. I told him too bad, that bar is going way high!! :D

I'll be happy to swap those ducks for this swarm of bees that dropped in this afternoon.

Burning it would be the last thing I would do. We need bees. A bee keeper is coming in this morning to take the swarm. They'll be put in a hive so they can pollinate crops and make honey.

I'd keep them myself, but I already have too many adopted critters. :-)

Yep, bees are good people. I rescue them from the pool every time I see one drowning. My wife hates it when I do that.

I'm also firmly in the do not kill bees camp. We have a serious bee death problem and as noted, they are a key player in our food chain. No bees, no food.

Nice pool.

Yeah, but it's about 11 years old, and I'm tired of maintenance and upkeep issues. I'm ready to downsize to a smaller no-pool home. I ain't getting any younger, and running Muffins is depleting my energy.

No food would suck.
