The whole county would smell like chicken, though.

I hope that didn't sound insensitive

More like pork.

BTW, grilled chops and grilled fresh corn tonight.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

Glad you're feeling better! Still alive is always a good thing. Absence of puking is an added bonus. Heat related or the good old flu?

All heat. We've had some really hot and humid days. Last Monday was a killer. Our work clothes really don't breathe at all, so a person doesn't cool down from sweating. Spend the whole day drenched in sweat. I drink water and Gatorade constantly, eat fruit and veggies, etc. We have A/C at home and Dad keeps the house in the low 70's. I come home and freeze. We've also had some really "cold" snaps. One day we will have heat warnings, the next people will be wearing jackets. A person just can't acclimate. After a couple of weeks of crazy temperatures, being on the go all the time, and not sleeping well, my body just had enough.

I get sick from the heat, but this has been worse than I've been in a very long time. I had to leave work, I knew that if I stayed I would have ended up puking a lot more, possibly passing out. We didn't have much work going on, so it's not like I left them in a bad spot.

We have been splitting our days between the mid 80's and mid 90's, with heat indices into the 100's. This is winding up to be a hot summer this year, and dry. The last couple of summers have been mostly 80's with a few 90's, and pretty regular rainfall. My grass is already starting to brown out in some spots. It's also playing havoc on the a/c units in our vehicles. I have 3 lined up waiting for service for a/c.

Hydration and rest is the best you can do in this weather. Might have to skip a game or two, but I doubt you will do that. You don't strike me as the "slow down and take it easy" type. Of course, standard disclaimer still applies, I can and often do make mistakes. Ask anyone who knows me.

That's the same as our temps, the humidex is the killer part.

We've had plenty of a/c jobs come in at work. I had a minivan yesterday that's in really rough shape. ABS, stabilitrak, and airbag lights on. Tires going flat, etc. First thing the customer says is "I don't have a lot of money to spend". But they want their a/c to work. It really can be annoying when people insist on the creature comforts working, but couldn't care less about the safety features.

As for slowing down, I'm skipping the roofing party today at my sisters. Right now I'm enjoying a NCIS marathon.

Safety features are suggestions, at best. Like red lights and stop signs and speed limits ;-)a. A/C..now you're talking necessity! We have 2 minivan conversions for para-transit. They were converted by Braun to make them wheelchair accessible. They take the entire floor out, and replace it with a much heavier and flat floor. All seats can come out easily, including the drivers seat.
The problem is the a/c lines to the rear of the vehicle are no longer oem, they are aftermarket to accommodate the new floor by Braun. The mechanics are unable to locate an aftermarket line, Braun is out of stock. So it's been in the shop for over 3 weeks now while they try to make the line themselves. As a result, I have to report to the DOT that the vehicle is out of service for over 2 weeks, so it counts against my mileages and service times. Such a pain.

Good choice!!! NCIS rules!

Rear a/c lines are always a pain. They're exposed to everything, turn many corners, and are expensive to fix or replace. Luckily the only one I've had to fix had a pinhole in it, so all I had to do was cut a 3/8"s section out of the line and install a compression fitting. Straight sections of aluminum line are alright, but it's really annoying when they use it to go around the corners. Wish they would just use flexible line at that point.

The NCIS marathon ended at noon, so now I'm watching The Dark Knight Rises. And working my way through one of my favourite blogs, Old House Dreams ( oldhousedreams.com ). The whole blog is real estate listings of old houses, Mid-century Modern being the newest.

Mid-century Modern. I was born then. Makes me feel old.

Soup. Thought that was a safe bet, but it's not.

I don't feel sick to my stomach at all, until something is sitting in it. Drinking little bits of water at a time is alright, and I haven't tried drinking anything else. But I need to eat something. I haven't had much of anything stay down since Thursday's lunch.

It might be a bug as well, but the Doc said heat exhaustion will do this. I've had this before, but not this bad in a very long time.

Applesauce (homemade, sugar free) and a handful of crackers have been down for about 90 minutes now. Gonna try eating some more.

BRAT

Bananas
Rice
Apple Sauce
Toast.
Not all at once, of course.

I've never tried it but almost every Iowan mother swears by it.

Otherwise, I'd call the doctor if you're still doing this by noon tomorrow. Even you said it's never been this bad. It's amazing what a few liters of IV fluids can do to make your feel-bads go away, and make sure your systems are all in check.

Rice is out, I gag on the stuff most days to begin with. The only bread we have in the house is the full multi-grain stuff, might be a bit much. I can get Dad to go to the grocery store tomorrow if I don't feel up to it.

I had hoped for IV, to get feeling better, but the doc said that I could just sip on water for hours on end. -?
Blood work came back good. I'm smart enough to not let myself get so bad that my kidneys shut down.

Hopefully you'll keep something down, and keep the hydration thing going. Hope you get some sleep and wake up feeling better, as well.
