Just really don't like it. It's one of those foods that I often have to force myself to eat it unless it's cooked perfectly.

I could eat rice with every meal. Love the stuff. I've been eating it since I was maybe 5? Good old Uncle Ben's.

I find in the heat of summer, I really pack in the fresh fruit and veggies, too. I eat better, but never seem to lose any real significant weight. In 2010 I managed to drop 60 pounds. I looked and felt great, BUT that didn't last. I was walking and eating only good stuff. I need to get back there. Having an office job with a designated "chocolate drawer" in the dispatch center outside my door doesn't help much. I am weak. I have no will power. I spent a lot of money on new clothes and a jacket, all still looking brand new and all about 2 sizes too small for me. At least if I lose weight this time, I have a wardrobe waiting for me.

Same here, rice is one of our staples. I prefer it over potatoes. Not the UBens stuff, that's fake rice. I like the real thing.

:-P feel taunted Jay?

I like brown rice, and I often have it mixed in soup. Or I will get a sauce like a nice peanut saute and mix it in

The applesauce has stayed down, without complaint, for a few hours now. At least I can eat something. I'm used to feeling sick when I'm puking. This is a rather different kind of sick feeling.

Don't be hating on Ben! Most of what I "cook" comes out of the freezer or a can. The fact that I microwave my bag of rice speaks volumes to my advanced culinary skills!!!

I AM feeling taunted! I never really acquired a taste for brown or wild rice, unless it's in soup. I've never sautéed anything in my life. I've sauntered, I've scintillated and perhaps sashayed after consuming copious amount of alcohol, but I have never sautéed ;-)a

All heat. We've had some really hot and humid days. Last Monday was a killer. Our work clothes really don't breathe at all, so a person doesn't cool down from sweating. Spend the whole day drenched in sweat. I drink water and Gatorade constantly, eat fruit and veggies, etc. We have A/C at home and Dad keeps the house in the low 70's. I come home and freeze. We've also had some really "cold" snaps. One day we will have heat warnings, the next people will be wearing jackets. A person just can't acclimate. After a couple of weeks of crazy temperatures, being on the go all the time, and not sleeping well, my body just had enough.

I get sick from the heat, but this has been worse than I've been in a very long time. I had to leave work, I knew that if I stayed I would have ended up puking a lot more, possibly passing out. We didn't have much work going on, so it's not like I left them in a bad spot.

You might want to buy one of these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BP570ZM/ (external link)

they really do work.

what nice things happened to you folks this week? :p

Took the camera out quickly to capture an Eastern Rosella in the Lavender in the front yard. Pitty it's not in focus and I cut its wing off. But you can still see the gorgeous colours this bird has.

This little guy would be about 30 cm (12") long and my favourite Rosella if not close to one of the prettiest in the parrot family. They are a lot shyer than the crimsons. This one I took through the window from inside the house. It went out of view to the other side of the plants so I went outside to go around but (s)he flew away.

Taken with my iPhone, first time really trying for a good photo with it. Not too bad, for what it is, but notably lacking in detail and sharpness. (It's all I had with me at the time.)

Some but it didn't take much before it started showing 'oversharpened' artifacts.
