Oh, boy. There's a remake of Ben-Hur. I think I'll not rush out to see it.

And a remake of Rocky Horror with a lady playing Tim Curries Frank N. Furter part. What are some people thinking. Some movies should not be remade.

Gonna be 113F in Vegas today, which means 115 or better on my side of the valley. It was 91 at 5AM.

If the guys who invented AC for houses and cars were still alive, I'd treat them each to a Muffin.

Yea, we haven't been as hot as you but it's 99~103 every day. Pool hit 95 for the first time ever.

a couple weeks ago I noticed fertilizer around my neighbor's yard on the sidewalk and driveway. I thought to myself that it's way too hot to be fertilizing. Sure 'nuff; most of his once gorgeous lawn looks like dry hay, and watering it every day, twice a day, ain't gonna bring it back in this heat.

Poor old guy is about 75 and takes very good care of his yard, normally.

Did he water it when the sun was up? That would have burned it really good. Hot and dry weather definitely is not the time to fertilize.

Like me, he waters early in the morning and again at night (I only add the night watering when it's 105+). It's just the fertilizer that did it, I'm sure. I would prefer to have desert landscaping like we do in the back, but my wife is stuck on having a lawn. If it was up to me, I'd also get rid of the hundreds of golf courses in Southern Nevada. I can't imagine the amount of water being wasted, when Lake Meade... our water source... is drying up.

I've been able to get away with one watering a day. It's only 8 to 10 minutes a zone. One of the things we had to get use to here in TX. No deep watering. It doesn't work.Much better to water for only a few minutes but more often.

It's more humid where you are, which helps. When the humidity is 4-8% at 100+ degrees, everything dries up. Having a breeze makes it that much worse.
