Here's a shot of an old bridge in Carrbridge taken on my PowerShot S30 (before I got my 350D).

Thanks Olli, although having seen some of your photos, Finland looks equally beautiful.

Wow , thats an amazing shot , and the similaritys....

What i`m talking about is this ....the same style single arch bridge but thousands of miles apart.

This picture was taken last summer during my Greek holidays, its a place at the north-west side of Greece.

The locals were saying that when this bridge was built it was the tallest single arch stone made one in the world at the time.

Trust me,you can not judge by the photo (i should have taken one with someone on the bridge) but when i went on it i was quite imprest with the hight of it from the water (which as you can see isn`t much, summer time in Greece).

Can you see the similarities ?

I think the bridge differences is that the Greek one is that way by design whereas the Scottish one is just about to collapse.

As to your photo - it puts mine to shame. ;)

Is it realy ?
Well, the Greek one has been there for at least 100 years (according to the locals anyway) and you can still go on it , altough they don`t use it any more because of the new one.
You can still see the locals going oder it though with their donkys and sheep,(thats the reasson it was built for,not vehicles).

As to your photo - it puts mine to shame. ;)

I assure you , that wasn`t my intention at all.

Thanks Carzee, I think that the little pieces of heather growing out of the bridge give the photo a subtle hint that it is in Scotland.

Amazing

I guess they built them so steep and so high was because of the block/brick laying technology of the time.

Whatever, they are both stunning rustic examples.
